In 1978 Sensei Mistry joined Sensei Morio Higaonna and has trained under him ever since. DAN and now the head of the International Okinawan Goju Ryu Karate-do Federation. Under his leadership, since its founding in 1979, the IOGKF now has more than 50 affiliated countries and still growing every year, as more and more people the world over recognize the legitimacy and purity of the IOGKF which tra

ces its hereditary directly to the founder of the style of Okinawan Goju Ryu, Bushi Chogun Miyagi. The Academy of Martial Arts India which is directly affiliated to the IOGKF since its inception has followed the principles and objectives of teaching thousands from the general public and also the Para Military forces like the ITBP (Indo Tibetan Border Police), CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force), BSF (Border Security Force), the Naval Commandos, the Dogra Regiment of the Indian Army, officers of the Customs & Vigilance Dept., International Airport Mumbai, and security and flight crew of Air India.

Special Martial Arts Training Session!

On October 5, IOGKF India Hombu Dojo will be hosting Sensei James Friedman, 7th Dan Aikido and BJJ Black Belt, from 7:00–8:30 PM.

Theme: Form vs. Function

All IOGKF India members—Hombu and Shibu—are cordially invited to join this special training session.

This is a wonderful opportunity to explore a different approach to martial arts, broaden our perspective, and learn from another experienced martial artist.

I.O.G.K.F. - India is a center of preserving Okinawan traditional Karate under the guidance of Legendary Karate teacher Sensei Pervez Behram Mistry. A separate karate class held on Tuesday and Thursday. Traditional Karate offers much more than physical fitness.
Regular practice helps children develop:
Discipline & focus — learning to concentrate and follow instructions.
Confidence — overcoming challenges and believing in themselves.
Physical fitness — improving strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, and stamina.
Self-control — learning to manage emotions and respond calmly.

Huge congratulations to Sensei Henrik Larsen (Denmark), Sensei Jorge Monteiro (Portugal), Sensei Roy Flatt (England), and Sensei Luis Nunes (Spain) on being awarded 9th Dan.

This is a truly well-deserved recognition of their lifelong dedication to preserving and teaching traditional Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate-Do. They continue to set an outstanding example of karate as a lifelong discipline, inspiring generations of students around the world.
