Wayanad Tunnel Project Latest Update | May 2026

Construction work on the much-awaited Anakkampoyil – Kalladi – Meppadi Tunnel Road Project is progressing steadily in Kerala. Major excavation activities are currently underway at the tunnel entrance area, marking an important phase in the development of this ambitious infrastructure project.

🔹 Current works include:
✔️ Tunnel portal excavation
✔️ Rock cutting and removal
✔️ Layer-by-layer hill excavation
✔️ Reinforcement works using steel and concrete
✔️ Bridge construction across Marippuzha for transportation access

The project aims to provide a safer and faster alternative route between Kozhikode and Wayanad by reducing dependency on the busy Thamarassery Churam road.
