Mandatory registration of Exporters & Importers on RBI IEDPMS Portal*

As per recent information from FED RBI Office, a new process has been introduced for mandatory registration of exporters/importers on the IEDPMS portal to access all pending shipping bills/BOEs/ERM/ORM across AD Banks.



Key Action Required:

Exporters/Importers must register themselves on the portal using specific credentials. Without this registration, they will not be able to access the portal.



Please refer to the following step-by-step registration process to guide customers accordingly:



Registration Process

1. Visit the RBI IEDPMS Portal: https://edpms.rbi.org.in

2. Click on Customer Registration (right-hand side of the login screen).

3. Fill in the required details in the form:

Tamil Nadu remained the top exporting state in the country in textile goods during 2024-25 and widened its lead over the second highest exporter – Gujarat.
In 2024-25, out of India’s total textile exports of textile goods worth $36.61 billion, Tamil Nadu’s contribution was $7.99 billion or 26.81 per cent share. In comparison, in 2023-24, out of India’s total textile exports of $34.43 billion the State’s contribution was $7.15 billion (20.78 per cent), according to data available in Centre’s Niryat portal.

The Ministry of Finance has issued the notification by which the ‘Certificate of Origin’ under Customs Act is replaced by ‘Proof of Origin’.

The government has notified Customs (Administration of Rules of Origin under Trade Agreements) Amendment Rules, 2025 which amended the Customs (Administration of Rules of Origin under Trade Agreements) Rules, 2020.

In the Customs (Administration of Rules of Origin under Trade Agreements) Rules, 2020, in rule 2, in sub-rule (1), in clause (f), for the word “certificate”, the word “proof’ shall be substituted.

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has launched the enhanced Certificate of Origin (eCoO) 2.0 System, a significant upgrade designed to simplify the certification process for exporters and enhance trade efficiency. This upgraded platform offers several user-friendly features, such as multi-user access, which enables exporters to authorize multiple users under a single Importer Exporter Code (IEC). Additionally, the system now supports Aadhaar-based e-signing alongside digital signature tokens, providing greater flexibility.

27.08.2024- NEWS- Govt aiming to fully automate customs processes by April 2026

The government is aiming to digitalise the entire customs process by April 2026 and bring more departments on board the single window interface for facilitating trade (SWIFT) portal to expedite the clearance procedure, official sources said.

“The aim is to enhance ease of doing business for importers and exporters, and reduce the turnaround time for trade,” an official said. “We expect all the remaining processes to be automated within two years…it should be done by April 2026,” the official added.
