BE degree course in Instrumentation Technology was started in our institute during the year 1979 in Siddaganga Institute of Technology Tumkur,has been a pioneer in the field of Instrumentation Engineering. Enabled by well qualified & committed staff, the department of Instrumentation has been continuously working for the cause of producing engineers, who can make a difference. Students of the depa
rtment are consistently securing university ranks and most of the eligible students are getting placed on campus. The department, braced by three doctorates and motivated with the recognition by the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) as a research center, has been constantly exploring various avenues to strengthen its efforts of building quality research facilities. Two members of the faculty of the department are already pursuing their research interests on thin film sensors at this research center. Subjects offered for the degree course encompass a variety of areas in order to meet the growing needs of the industries: Sensors, Basic to advanced instrumentation; both conventional and Virtual, Analog & Digital electronics, Microcontrollers, Signal processing, Control systems, Programming Languages are a few to name.
