PORTS THAT GENERATE FUTURE - PART TWO
The second part of our recap of the sixth stop of Blue Marina Awards® 2026, hosted by Marina di Porto Cervo at Pevero Golf Club on 9 October.
Moderated by journalist Camilla Rocca of Nautica and Forbes Italia, the conference explored how marinas can turn sustainability goals into operational decisions, measurable results and value for coastal communities.
Energy efficiency, water management, AI, robotics and environmental monitoring highlighted the role of technology in helping marinas understand their surroundings, manage resources and prevent risks.
Circular Yachting brought the discussion to materials, maintenance products, supply chains and the end of a vessel’s life: considering recovery and recyclability from the outset, while connecting research, businesses and practical experimentation.
Closing the conference, Walter Vassallo, founder of Blue Marina Awards®, described the programme’s evolution from a marina rating system towards a permanent observatory of Italy’s recreational port sector — turning evidence and successful experiences into knowledge that can help accelerate the transition.
Thank you to Camilla Rocca, all speakers, institutions, partners and participants for a day of dialogue, expertise and shared commitment to the future of the sea.
