🚀 New Research Alert!
🔒 Blockchain Meets IoT/WoT – A Game-Changer for Data Certification

We’re thrilled to share our latest publication in Computer Networks — a deep dive into how blockchain technology can certify data models, devices, and time series messages across IoT and Web of Things (WoT) platforms. 💡

🌐 With the explosion of connected devices, ensuring data integrity, security, and trust has never been more critical. This paper presents: ✅ A flexible and scalable certification framework
✅ Integration with Hyperledger Fabric
✅ Real-world validation on Snap4City for domains like smart mobility, energy, environment, and healthcare
✅ Full support for GDPR and multi-organization use

📘 Why this matters: From smart cities to sustainable energy, our approach ensures trusted data flow, enabling better services and smarter decisions.

Title: Study and development of solutions for the optimization of public transport

The research grant, the subject of this call, has as its objective the study and development of solutions for the optimization of public transport. The research activity will be carried out with the aim of integrating the algorithms developed for the analysis of public transport supply and demand using generative or agent-based AI (reinforced learning) techniques into the snap4city platform of the OPTIFaaS project. The study involves learning artificial intelligence techniques, data analytics, data modeling, IoT Device management, management of large amounts of data, event-driven programming and streams towards acquisition process clusters, data management clusters and use of big data management techniques. The work will be carried out at DISIT Lab in the context of the PNRR OPTIFaaS project funded by the Centro Nazione Mobilità MOST with partners LUTECH spa, University of Naples, DINFO-UNIFI, Polytechnic of Bari.

Florence Tracks Tourism Using Thermal Cameras & IoT Platforms
A handful of cities across the EU have turned to IoT to better manage tourism. It’s an initiative part of the EU-funded Herit Data project In this video, we head to one of the test sites: Florence, Italy. Axis has deployed thermal cameras to track the flow of people. The thermal cameras connect to the Snap4City IoT platform, which collects and aggregates data across city services. The project is reportedly one of the first instances in which a thermal camera has been paired with an IoT platform Is this the start to a new trend?
