We asked three questions to Luca Flumene, Logistics Department Manager, on what keeps a shipment moving across the world, on time.
- How does your department manage complex international shipments for superyachts?
Our priority is finding the fastest, most effective solution for every shipment. We ensure clients receive their goods as quickly as possible by expert-handling complex Italian customs procedures and bureaucracy on their behalf. Our goal is to make the entire logistics process smooth, efficient, and stress-free, allowing captains and crews to focus entirely on their operations while we seamlessly manage the heavy lifting behind the scenes.
- In 25 years of Nautica Assistance, how has yachting logistics evolved, and how have you adapted?
Yachting logistics is constantly evolving, heavily influenced by global political shifts, international regulations, and changing customs procedures. Adapting requires continuous learning, staying up to date with worldwide legislation, and deeply understanding the regulatory frameworks of different countries. At Nautica Assistance, we have always embraced this evolution by investing heavily in specialized knowledge, experience, and strong global relationships.
- What is the most critical aspect of ensuring seamless logistics for Nautica Assistance clients?
The biggest challenge is when external factors or third-party authorities don't fully grasp the high-stakes urgency of the superyacht industry. This can cause unexpected delays. Our crucial role is to anticipate these hurdles, coordinate closely with all parties involved, and do everything possible to minimize disruptions while maintaining clear, transparent, and proactive communication with our clients throughout the process.
