Using two mobile cranes for tandem lifts, the ISLA team just discharged three massive transformers in Mazara del Vallo and carefully loaded them onto trucks for the on-carriage.

🎉 Congratulations to our colleague Maria Messina – our Quiz Champion! ⭐️

Maria finished first on our internal quiz focused on goals that truly matter to ISLA and EST, including:

🌱 Social responsibility
🌱 Environmental responsibility
🌱 Corporate governance

This quiz was part of an exciting team event, where colleagues from EST and ISLA gathered in Augusta on Saturday. We had good company, good food, and a lot of fun (karaoke!) – but we also looked at some serious stuff.

For example, we discussed important goals that we, as leading service providers in the renewable energy sector, constantly pursue. The highest standards of quality, sustainability, and emission control are paramount to us — not only for business reasons, but because we believe in them.

Thank you to all the ISLA and EST team members who made the day in Augusta so special! We appreciate your hard work and dedication.

Mission completed: Our teams in Vasto just loaded 15 wind turbine towers onto MV Adriatic.

This time, ISLA supported the green transition by:

🧰 Providing secure storage at our facility in Vasto

🧰 Organizing the transport to the pier

🧰 Managing heavy lifting operations with shore cranes

🧰 Securing the cargo

🦅 Our new Konecranes Gottwald ESP.8 Mobile Harbor Crane spread its wings at the terminal of our subsidiary, Europea Servizi Terminalistici (EST), in Augusta over the weekend – and you could be the next to operate it 👷🏼‍♂️

By the way, picking up two containers at once isn’t a problem at all thanks to our 65-tonne twin-lift spreader. Of course, the crane can also be used to lift specialized project cargo, such as wind turbine components.

👷🏼‍♂️ From the first blade to the last box: It’s been a busy few days in Vasto, where our team has once again supported the Italian wind industry. The MV Polar Rock delivered several turbines, and we were responsible for safely and efficiently unloading them.

⛴️ A big thank you to the crew of the vessel and to our customer! As always, it was a pleasure working with you! 🙌🏻

Our new Konecranes Gottwald ESP.8 Mobile Harbor Crane has arrived at the Augusta terminal of our subsidiary Europea Servizi Terminalistici (EST)!

At the moment, it still looks like a giant 3D-puzzle, but soon our hybrid-powered colleague will be assembled and ready for action.

Our new crane will help us to further increase our efficiency:

🔹Lifting capacity of up to 150 tonnes
🔹 5.3-meter tower extension
🔹65-tonne twin-lift spreaders

The crane will not only boost our container handling ability but also help us to manage specialized heavy cargo. It perfectly meets the needs of the growing offshore wind industry.

🌱 The hybrid drive (diesel engine + ultracapacitors) reduces fuel consumption. The crane is also prepared for an external power supply - paving the way to full electrification and zero onsite tailpipe emissions.

👷🏼‍♂️We gotta run now - we need to assemble a crane … Stay tuned! We’ll let you know when our new colleague is ready and gets to work!
