🇮🇹 Dall’11 agosto si torna a Santo Stefano. 🏝️
Dopo una lunga pausa sono riprese le visite guidate all’ex Carcere Borbonico, uno dei luoghi più affascinanti dell’arcipelago.
L’isola, oggi disabitata, conserva il grande carcere circolare costruito alla fine del Settecento.
📅 Visite fino al 30 settembre 2026, in date prestabilite e con posti limitati.
E per una volta anch’io ero ospite e non guida: Santo Stefano era l’ultima delle Isole Ponziane che mi mancava. Finalmente sbarcarci è stato davvero speciale.
🇬🇧 Since August 11, Santo Stefano is open to visitors again. 🏝️
After a long break, guided visits to the former Bourbon Prison have resumed.
The uninhabited island is dominated by its remarkable circular prison, built at the end of the 18th century.
📅 Visits run until September 30, 2026, on selected dates with limited places.
And for once, I was a guest rather than a guide. Santo Stefano was the last Pontine Island I had never set foot on — finally visiting it was very special.

Nach langer Pause finden wieder Führungen durch das ehemalige Bourbonengefängnis statt.
Die heute unbewohnte Insel wird vom beeindruckenden kreisförmigen Gefängnis aus dem späten 18. Jahrhundert geprägt.
📅 Besichtigungen bis 30. September 2026 an ausgewählten Tagen und mit begrenzten Plätzen.
Und diesmal war ich Gast statt Guide: Santo Stefano war die letzte Pontinische Insel, die mir noch fehlte. Endlich dort an Land zu gehen, war etwas Besonderes.

🇬🇧 We’re right in the middle of peak summer season. ☀️
Full ferries, crowded beaches, hundreds of boats — August on small Italian islands can be intense.

Overtourism is real, and more visitors don’t always mean a better experience.

Luckily, autumn is getting closer. That’s when my work picks up again: hiking, snorkeling, nature, culture and smaller groups.

Maybe that’s my definition of chic. 🌿

🇩🇪 Wir sind mitten in der Hochsaison. ☀️
Volle Fähren, volle Strände, hunderte Boote — August auf kleinen italienischen Inseln kann intensiv sein.

Overtourism ist real, und mehr Besucher bedeuten nicht automatisch ein besseres Erlebnis.

Zum Glück kommt der Herbst näher. Dann nimmt auch meine Arbeit wieder zu: Wandern, Schnorcheln, Natur, Kultur und kleine Gruppen.

Vielleicht ist genau das meine Definition von chic. 🌿

🇮🇹 Siamo nel pieno dell’alta stagione. ☀️
Traghetti pieni, spiagge affollate, centinaia di barche — agosto sulle piccole isole italiane può essere intenso.

L’overtourism esiste, e più visitatori non significa sempre un’esperienza migliore.

Per fortuna l’autunno si avvicina. È allora che riparte anche il mio lavoro: trekking, snorkeling, natura, cultura e piccoli gruppi.

Forse è proprio questa la mia definizione di chic. 🌿

🇮🇹 Una bella sorpresa sul giornale di lunedì! 📰
È stato un piacere e un onore parlare con Il Messaggero di Ponza come destinazione estiva, amata dai romani e sempre più anche dagli ospiti internazionali.

In questi giorni l’isola è molto frequentata, ma non solo per la mondanità: sempre più persone vogliono scoprirne natura, cultura e territorio 🏝️
Un’evoluzione che apprezzo e alla quale spero di contribuire con il mio lavoro, promuovendo un turismo più sostenibile e consapevole.

Amare Ponza è facile. Il mio obiettivo è aiutare le persone anche a conoscerla e capirla 💙

It was a pleasure and an honour to speak with Il Messaggero about Ponza as a summer destination, loved by Romans and increasingly by international visitors too.

The island is busy right now, but not everyone comes for the glamorous summer scene. More and more people want to discover its nature, culture and territory 🏝️
It’s a development I appreciate and hope to support through my work by promoting more sustainable and conscious tourism.

Falling in love with Ponza is easy. My goal is to help people get to know and understand it too 💙

Es war mir eine Freude und Ehre, mit Il Messaggero über Ponza als Sommerdestination zu sprechen – beliebt bei Gästen aus Rom und zunehmend auch bei internationalem Publikum.

Die Insel ist momentan gut besucht, aber längst nicht alle kommen nur wegen des schicken Sommerlebens. Immer mehr Menschen interessieren sich für Natur, Kultur und die Insel selbst 🏝️
Eine Entwicklung, die ich sehr schätze und mit meiner Arbeit durch nachhaltigen und bewussten Tourismus unterstützen möchte.

Sich in Ponza zu verlieben ist einfach. Mein Ziel ist es, Menschen dabei zu helfen, die Insel auch kennen und verstehen zu lernen 💙

🇬🇧 No boat? No problem! 🏝️
It’s true — having a boat opens up a completely different side of Ponza. But that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the sea without one.
Many beautiful coves and swimming spots are easy to reach on foot. Whether you want to cool off after a hike, spend a relaxing afternoon by the water, or join one of my guided snorkeling tours, there are plenty of options without ever leaving the shore. Sometimes, all you need is a towel, a mask and a short walk.

🇩🇪 Kein Boot? Kein Problem! 🏝️
Ja, mit einem Boot erlebt man Ponza noch einmal ganz anders. Aber das heißt nicht, dass man ohne Boot auf das Meer verzichten muss.
Viele wunderschöne Buchten und Badeplätze sind problemlos zu Fuß erreichbar. Egal ob für eine kleine Abkühlung nach der Wanderung, einen entspannten Badetag oder eine geführte Schnorcheltour – auch ohne Boot gibt es viele Möglichkeiten. Manchmal braucht es nur ein Handtuch, eine Maske und einen kurzen Spaziergang.

🇮🇹 Niente barca? Nessun problema! 🏝️
È vero: con una barca si scopre un’altra faccia di Ponza. Ma questo non significa che senza barca non si possa godere il mare.
Molte cale e punti per fare il bagno sono facilmente raggiungibili a piedi. Che sia per un tuffo dopo un’escursione, una giornata di relax o uno snorkeling guidato, le alternative non mancano. A volte bastano un asciugamano, una maschera e una breve camminata.

🇬🇧 A little throwback to my latest day on Zannone 🌿
I had the pleasure of supporting Domenico Sorrenti and guiding the group across one of the wildest islands of the Pontine archipelago.
Holm oak forests, cliffs overlooking the sea, mouflons, and countless stories along the trail. And to end the day? A swim around three different islands: Ponza, Zannone and Gavi.
Thank you for your trust and for a fantastic day. I hope to see you again on the trails soon!

Ho avuto il piacere di affiancare Domenico Sorrenti e accompagnare il gruppo alla scoperta di una delle isole più selvagge dell’arcipelago pontino.
Boschi di leccio, scogliere a picco sul mare, mufloni e tante storie lungo il sentiero. E per concludere la giornata? Un bagno tra tre isole diverse: Ponza, Zannone e Gavi.

San Silverio is more than a religious celebration.
It’s a day when families return to the island, old friends meet again, boats fill the harbour and the entire community comes together.
Whether you come for the tradition, the atmosphere or simply to experience Ponza at its most authentic, these are days unlike any other on the island.

🇬🇧 May on the Pontine Islands looked a bit like this. ☀️🏝️
Ferries, cliffs, windy paths, spring flowers, sea views and long days outside between Ponza and Ventotene.
Some moments were work, some were excursions, some were simply small pauses between one project and the next.
And honestly?
Island life in May is hard to beat.

Manche Momente waren Arbeit, manche Exkursionen und manche einfach kleine Pausen zwischen einem Projekt und dem nächsten.
Und ehrlich gesagt:
Das Inselleben im Mai ist schwer zu übertreffen.
