JUNE 16, 2006
: A young Gabriele enters the world of tourism for the first time, starting as an English-speaking driver. I had just returned from Boston, where I had spent another three months learning English, which was necessary for this job. I still remember my first service as a driver for a company that worked in the tourism sector: a 4-hour transfer for a family from a prestigious hotel in the center of Rome. They say time flies, but you always think it's just a cliché until you stop for a moment to think about what has been, what you are, and what will be. Indeed, time flies..June 20, 2026: Exactly 20 years have passed!! Twenty years since that day. And meanwhile, young Gabriele has become a grown man, while still feeling like an eternal boy!! Twenty years later, I'm still here (but for many years now as a freelancer), trying to ensure my guests have an unforgettable holiday in Rome and Italy. I've lost count of how many tours I've organized and taken, how many emails I've received and responded to, but what I know for sure is that from day one, both as an employee and then as a freelancer, I've always given my all to ensuring my guests felt at ease and had a fun day or two, without neglecting the area of knowledge. I believe I've always succeeded in achieving what I don't consider work, because when I'm with my guests, it feels like I'm not working. This is all, of course, thanks to you, who treats me like family and never like a mere driver! I really wish I could thank you each and every one of you, but there are so many of you!! So, through this post, here I am to thank you all for the trust you've shown in choosing me to organize and spend your vacation here in Italy. What we can all do together, even virtually, is a big toast to these first 20 years, with the hope that, if there aren't another 20, it's only because I won the lottery and am now on a beach in the Caribbean! So, if you can, stop by for ten minutes and toast! Or, as soon as you get home, get a glass of wine and cheers to Gabriele! To Gabriele, but above all, to all of you who have made it possible for me to reach this milestone. I love you all.
