Even Beneath The Chaos of The Wave .. Mount Fuji Remains..
Dalla Collezione del Museo Nazionale di Cracovia
📍 Palazzo Bonaparte, Roma
🗓️ dal 27 marzo al 29 giugno 2026
It was hard to get a photograph… but honestly, I didn’t mind at all. 🤍
In fact… I loved it.
Because it shows how many people are completely in love with art.
So many still aware of what is happening around them.
Still leaving the house for beauty.
Still curious.
Still wanting to stand silently in front of something created by another human soul almost 200 years ago.
And I knew sooner or later I would get the shot anyway…
I was in absolutely no hurry, also theres hundreds of other incredible works just really and honestly amazed how beautfiul and moving they all are
So there I was, sitting beside my dear friend Carolyn Carolyn Little in front of The Great Wave off Kanagawa by Katsushika Hokusai 🇯🇵
What a masterpiece.
What a presence.
At first you only see the wave.
Then suddenly… you notice the tiny boats beneath it.
The people inside them.
And in the distance, almost hidden, Mount Fuji standing perfectly calm while everything around it feels turbulent and alive.
You are immediately drawn into this enormous force of chaos and fragility… In my thoughts Humanity trying to navigate something far bigger than itself. A piece that have been studied and still is.. some call it the Monalisa of Japan,, 200 years later and i agree.. it does feel its so modern still today, interesting.. how humanity itself has not changed nearly as much as we think.
We still live between fear and wonder. Between survival and beauty. Between feeling small… and continuing anyway.
And honestly, standing there amongst all those people moved me far more than I expected.
Because despite the scrolling, the noise, the speed, and the algorithms competing for our attention every second of the day…
Something deeply human is still alive inside us.
People still search for beauty.
People still stop.
And there we all were…
Together in front of a wave. ✨. Do i recomemnd it .. O MY YES.. WHOEVER IS IN ROME now or coming jsut before 29th June, go and see it a definate experience. Katsushika Hokusai 葛飾 北斎 #葛飾北斎 #神奈川沖浪裏柄 #北斎漫画 Katsushika Hokusai - Galeria Sandranmalheiros
