🍃 If your idea of a perfect day involves lacing up your boots, losing yourself in pine forests, stumbling upon a tiny stone village, and ending with a glass of local wine overlooking terraced vineyards — Val di Cembra is calling your name.

The Cammino delle Terre Sospese ("Path of the Suspended Lands") is one of Trentino's best-kept secrets. A dramatic valley carved by the Avisio river, ancient stone terraces clinging to steep slopes, woodland trails that go quiet except for the wind — and hamlets so small and unhurried you'll forget the rest of the world exists.

It's not a famous route. It's not on every travel list. And honestly? That's exactly the point.

Pack light, walk slow, drink local. 🍷🏔️

Preparing for your Italian adventure? Here's your pre-trip checklist 🇮🇹✨

📍 Pin your must-sees on Google Maps before you land — future you will be grateful
🗣️ Learn a few Italian phrases — "grazie" opens more doors than you'd think
🎬 Watch movies set in Italy for serious location inspo (Call Me By Your Name counts as research)
☀️ Check the weather and pack smart — cobblestone-friendly shoes are non-negotiable
🧳 Leave wiggle room in your suitcase — for wine, ceramics, and things you didn't plan to buy 🍷
🚆 Book trains in advance — Trenitalia sells out fast
🎟️ Book museum tickets online — skip the 3-hour Vatican queue

Hidden between the Tuscan border and the Ligurian coast, Sarzana is one of those towns that quietly surprises you.

Wander through its cobbled streets, discover layers of history around every corner, and end up in a lively piazza that feels untouched by time. From medieval fortresses to elegant squares, it’s a perfect blend of culture, charm, and everyday Italian life.

A small town with a strong identity — and plenty of character.

April reminded us why we’re so drawn to travel — not just for the destinations, but for the stories, perspectives, and flavors that take us somewhere new ✈️🌿

Here’s what inspired us this month:
✨ Favorite watches
''Scarpetta'' drew us in with its Italian-heritage character and layered storytelling, while ''Fly Me to the Moon'' explored travel in their own way — one unconventional, reaching beyond Earth with a journey tied to NASA
''People we meet on vacation''
Those spontaneous connections that remind us travel is as much about people as it is about places.

🌿 Favorite place
Uliveto Terme — known for its thermal waters and peaceful natural park, the perfect setting to slow down and recharge.

📖 Favorite read
Diane Keaton’s biography — a journey through her life, memories, and personal experiences, unfolding like a story of its own kind of travel.

🍽️ Favorite taste
Kachapuri — our Easter favorite this year, taking us on a delicious detour to the rich, comforting flavors of Georgia.

Here’s to all the ways we travel — across countries, through stories, and within ourselves 💫 Where did April take you?

Big week over here! 🎉

Our first newsletter went out (if you missed it, sign up at the link in bio — scroll down to subscribe).

We're deep in writing mode working on a blog post about our Milan & Madeira trip, and there's plenty more travel planning happening behind the scenes — both local escapes and some bigger international adventures.

In the meantime, we're making the most of this gorgeous sunny weather with aperitivo in the garden. Honestly, not a bad office. 🌿🥂

Started slow with a peaceful walk along the promenade by the port — that quiet morning charm you only find here. Then a classic Italian moment: coffee and a fresh cornetto at a little bar tucked inside the beautiful Giardini Pubblici ☕🥐

From there, a relaxed stroll through the city centre, soaking in the everyday life, small shops, and warm atmosphere, all the way up to Castello San Giorgio — worth it for the history and the views over the city and sea.

Finished the day with something different: a delicious lunch at Zhong Chinese 🍜

La Spezia has this effortless mix of calm, culture, and good food — definitely more than just a gateway to Cinque Terre.

There’s something magical about San Martino di Castrozza — where the air smells like pine and time seems to slow down.

Walking through these forests, you can almost hear the echoes of music in the trees themselves. These aren’t just any pines — they’re the kind that once inspired the legendary Stradivarius violins, where wood and craftsmanship come together to create something eternal.

Here, every tree feels like a story waiting to be heard.

We left Pisa by Frecciarossa to La Spezia, grabbed our Cinque Terre Card, and jumped on the local train toward Levanto—first stop: Vernazza.

Sun, wind, cappuccino + pastries by the station ☕️ then straight to the beach and up to the castle tower for stunning views. Quick pesto focaccia on the way back (must!).

Next: Corniglia—tiny, quiet, and totally charming. Worth the uphill (or bus 😅). Highlight? Basil-lemon & honey gelato.

Then onto Manarola for a stroll, some crispy frittura, and drinks with a view.

Final stop: Riomaggiore—livelier, full of bars & restaurants, the perfect way to end the day.

Skipped Monterosso, but still hit 4 villages in one day—Cinque Terre magic ✨

There’s something about starting the week slowly, intentionally—especially in a place like Barga. Last Monday, I had a half-day escape into Garfagnana, the kind that feels less like an itinerary and more like a gentle unfolding.

I began with a simple pleasure: a quiet coffee and a fresh pastry, sitting unhurried, letting the morning settle in.

From there, a walk up to the Duomo. It’s never just a walk, though. The streets of Barga have a way of pulling you in, each corner offering a view, a detail, a reason to slow down even more. By the time I reached the top, I knew I’ll pause—not just for the view, but for that feeling of being exactly where I’m meant to be.

Afterward, I wandered back through town, drifting in and out of small shops, not really looking for anything specific.

Then, a short drive out to Albiano for lunch. The kind of place I love—rustic, unpretentious, with a view that does most of the talking. A tiny menu: two main dishes, one pasta. That’s it. No decisions to overthink, just homemade food, made well, served simply.

It’s was not a big plan, but that’s the point. Just a Monday, a little escape, and a reminder that even a few hours can feel like a reset when you let them.
