LA ISOLA DI CAPRI

Along Positano’s shores, stone towers hold centuries of stories, revealed slowly as you approach from the sea.

Among them is Torre della Sponda, on the eastern side of Positano, whose origins date back to the 13th century. Across the bay, between Marina Grande and Fornillo, stands Torre Trasita, while further west, at the edge of Fornillo Beach, rises Torre di Fornillo.

Torre di Fornillo would begin another chapter centuries later when it was acquired in 1909 by Swiss artist Gilbert Clavel, who transformed the ancient structure into his home and a gathering place for artists and intellectuals.
