A beautiful beach doesn’t mean you can swim in it.

One of the first things I want to know when someone tells me they want a beach vacation is what they actually want to DO at the beach.

Are we talking floating in calm water for hours?

Snorkeling right offshore?

Or lounging with a book and listening to the waves?

Because those aren’t necessarily the same beach.

Currents, waves, rocky areas, and seasonal conditions can make a big difference.

And I would rather have that conversation before you spend thousands of dollars on your trip.

Pretty pictures only tell part of the story.

Two resorts can both call themselves all inclusive and offer two completely different experiences.

And THIS is why I tell my clients not to choose a resort based on pretty pictures and a price tag alone.

Are your airport transfers included? Are they private or shared?

What about scuba diving? Is the equipment included? Are there certification requirements or limits on the dives?

These are things I look into before recommending a resort to my clients.

Because I want you to know exactly what you’re paying for and what to expect when you arrive.

Some include airport transfers. Many do not.

Some include water sports, room service, premium dining, or certain activities. Others charge extra.

Even dining access can vary by room category or reservation availability.

Before comparing prices, make sure you are comparing the actual experience, not just the number at checkout.

I talk about the things that actually matter once you arrive, like room category, beach quality, transfer time, food, family fit, resort layout, special requests, and whether the property matches the trip you actually want.

Because pretty pictures are nice.

You still need to consider the airport experience, immigration, baggage, transfer time, road conditions, and how long it takes to actually reach your room.

That beautiful resort may be perfect, but if the journey is going to exhaust your family before the vacation begins, we need to talk about that too.

Travel time is part of the experience.
