Futae no toge pass which was used for Sankin Kotai (参勤交代) in Edo era has a beautiful view of caldera and grass land. Stone pavement made 400 years ago still remain in good condition. I visited there 3 times in this 10days for preview and tours. I find something new every time I walk there!

We visited Restaurant Kitayama which is on the northern outer-rim of A*o caldera on our dayoff.
Thick flavourful A*o akaushi beef on the top of rice was soooo good.
And look at this location!
Don't forget to check up their hand-made observation deck after enjoying a nice meal :p

Kyushu azalea/Miyama Kirishima are blooming at Sensuikyo now. It is also the trailhead of Mt. A*o/Takadake & Nakadake hiking route.
The valley made by the lava flow was named from the beautiful landscape as much as even the hermits get tipsy.
The short hike around Sensuikyo parking lot takes only half an hour.
Why don't you enjoy the dynamic view of Mt.A*o and A*o caldera and lava flow river with pretty volcanic wild azalea?

Tsuetate Koinobori/carp streamer Festival at Tsuetate onsen town.
Boys are looking forward to seeing this every year, it was the first time for us to come in evening.
There was no crowd,we enjoyed nice onsen/hot spring on the way home.
