Passengers from the mainland to Miyajima are enjoying the view of O-Torii (World Cultural Heritage Site) from the window of ferry cabin. This can be happened only on JR lines not on Matsudai lines.

Tourists are surrounding the main column of O-Torii (the main gate of Itsukushima Shrine; World Cultural Heritage Site). Gate is 16 m high. You can catch the size of Gate in comparison with human. It is large indeed.

Ebb tide scenery of O-Torii (grand gate of Itsukushima Shrine: World Cultural Heritage Site). You can see a shallow stream which runs through Gate to the ocean. This stream usually flows under the sea and cannot be seen. It shows itself at ebb tide only.

You can find many wonders under the sea here in this aquarium of “Miyajimarine”. This is one of them; octopus. It is really grotesque but we can catch something about another world. You can get this aquarium for another 10 minutes walk from the exit of Itsukushima Shrine (World Cultural Heritage Site).

Most of visitors approach this famous O-Torii from east and take pictures from east side. If you would not make u-turn from the exit of Itsukushima Shrine (World Cultural Heirtage Site) and proceed to west for a few minutes, you would see O-Torii from west. Beyond It the ferry terminal is observed and above It a heron is seen flying.
