Hyatt Regency Seragaki Island Okinawa 🇯🇵
Hyatt Regency Seragaki Island is a beautiful resort on its own private island, about 50 minutes from Naha Airport. I’d highly recommend renting a car. Not only to get to the hotel, but also to explore Okinawa at your own pace.
One thing to know about Japan is that true king beds aren’t very common, with most hotels offering twin beds instead. About 90% of the rooms here have twins, but they zip together seamlessly to make a king. We couldn’t even tell the difference, and it was one of the most comfortable beds we slept in during our trip.
The pool was one of the main reasons we booked this resort. It’s open into the evening, so after busy days exploring we loved coming back for a relaxing night swim. They also offer a free-flow drinks package for ¥4,200 per person, which pays for itself after about four drinks and is well worth it if you’re spending an afternoon by the pool.
This resort is also a great choice for families. There’s an indoor pool for a break from the sun, a kids’ club, and shallow areas in the main pool that are perfect for younger children.
The hotel restaurants were excellent but could get expensive. For more affordable meals, there are several great local restaurants just outside the resort along the main road.
Breakfast was included and was easily one of the best hotel buffets we’ve ever had. There was a fantastic mix of local Okinawan and Western dishes, plus made-to-order stations. The shabu-shabu and French toast were standout favourites.
One tip: if visiting the Kerama Islands (which we think is a must), this isn’t the most convenient base as it’s a fair drive from the ferry terminals. We did it as a day trip and it made for a long day. Next time, we’d stay a night or two in Naha or on the Kerama Islands before heading north.
Overall, this is an excellent resort with beautiful facilities, an amazing breakfast, and a peaceful location. We’d definitely stay here again.
