Human beings have lost many things so far that cannot be regained completely. We’ve noticed that the same thing is happening in our precious bicycle world. There was once a time when bicycles were locally built by hand welding together tubings — maybe those bikes were used by our own grandparents. Commute and transport relied heavily on bikes.Japan eventually became the most important place for bike manufacturing especially when people around the world started using bikes more recreationally. Times are different now.Manufacturing centers are found in other countries while companies in Japan receive their ideas and products massively without any hesitation. Has the Japanese bicycle industry lost not only their production power but imagination as well? We’ve realized that the reason is based on a lack of understanding through consumption. A radically different market can be seen here in Japan if we tap into our roots: make products by our own hands, increase lines on communication, and use the knowledge that we do have. Simworks has begun taking action to change the system against the trend of mass production. Our goal is to give our clients the highest quality of product and in the end life! We think it is necessary in order to guide the next generation. This is what we stand for and this is our passion we’d like to share with you.

SimWorksの母体であるCirclesは今年で20周年。
そんなCirclesが2014年に始めた遊び、RIDEALIVEが再び開催されます。

目的地を決めて、そこへ向かって走るだけ。
もちろんどこから出発しても、どんなルートを引いてもいい。
最後はみんなで同じ場所に集まり、食事をして、お酒を嗜み、焚き火を囲んで夜を過ごす。

まさに原点回帰とも言えるシンプルなスタイル、私たちSimWorksクルーも参加者の皆さんと一緒になって、なんなら参加者の誰よりも楽しみたいと思います。

Circles, the mothership of SimWorks, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.

RIDEALIVE—an event Circles launched back in 2014—is returning.

All you have to do is pick a destination and ride there.
Of course, you can start from anywhere and choose any route you like.
At the end, everyone gathers in the same spot to eat, enjoy a drink, and spend the evening around a campfire.

It’s a simple style that truly marks a return to our roots, and we, the SimWorks crew, plan to join in with all the participants—and hopefully have even more fun than anyone else there.

The Doppo Ronin, which embodies the spirit of the SimWorks Doppo series, has received a color update in “Golden Moss.”

It was first released as the Doppo ATB in November 2016. Ten years have passed since then. Looking back, while there have been minor changes to standards and specifications, the core of this all-terrain bike has remained true to its roots. Doppo Wanderer made by NITTO

先日のMADE、そして今週末のBESPOKED Dresdenでもプロトタイプとしてお披露目している、”Wanderer＝放浪者”という名前を持つ、SimWorksが考えるオールロードコンセプトのバイク。実は今回そのフレーム製造を日東さんにお願いして量産することに。

意外と知られていないかもしれませんが、日東さんは過去にスチールやアルミのフレームを作っていました。100年以上続く歴史ある日東さんのその豊富なノウハウを活かし、Wandererの製造をできることは私たちもとてもエキサイティングなビックニュースです。

このプロジェクトを始めるにあたり、Doppo Roninを手がけるShin服部製作所の服部氏はじめSimWorksのフレーム開発チームで改めて日東さんの工場を訪れました。そのときの様子をYoutubeにアップしています。

2026年末にはプレオーダーのご案内をする予定となっておりますので、楽しみにお待ちください。

SimWorks’ All-road concept bike, named “Wanderer,” was unveiled as a prototype at the recent MADE event and will be showcased again this weekend at BESPOKED Dresden. We’ve actually decided to entrust Nitto with the frame production for this model and move forward with mass production.

It may come as a surprise to some, but Nitto has a history of manufacturing steel and aluminum frames. It’s huge and exciting news for us to be able to leverage Nitto’s wealth of expertise—drawn from over 100 years of history—to manufacture the Wanderer.

To kick off this project, the SimWorks frame development team, led by Shin of ShinFabrication (the builder of the Doppo Ronin), paid another visit to Nitto’s factory. We’ve uploaded a video of that visit to YouTube.

We plan to announce pre-orders by the end of 2026, so please stay tuned.

Fillet Stems are back💎

SimWorksの初期からラインナップに名を連ね、その美しい佇まいで長く愛されてきたフィレットステム、Anna LeeとCarolineが数年ぶりに帰ってきました。

滑らかにつながるフィレット溶接ならではのシルエット。
クロモリという素材が持つ質感。そして、必要な強度を保ちながら、ひとつの工業製品として美しく仕立てるバランス。

このステムを作ることができるのは、NITTOの中でも高度な技術を身につけた限られた職人だけです。

Anna LeeとCarolineは、同じフィレットステムという背景を持ちながら、それぞれ異なるポジションを想定して設計されています。

Anna Leeは、72mmという高めのスタックと、75°・90°の2種類のアングルを用意。ハンドル位置をしっかり確保したいバイクや、ゆったりとしたポジションを作りたい場合に使いやすい設計。

対してCarolineは、スタック高42mm、アングル80°。
より低く、前へ伸びたコックピットを作りたいロードバイクや、スポーティなポジションに合わせやすいプロポーションに。

名前も姿も異なる二つのステムですが、どちらにも共通しているのは、機能だけでは語りきれないNITTOのものづくりの美しさです。

The Fillet Stems—Anna Lee and Caroline—which have been part of the SimWorks lineup since the very beginning and have long been cherished for their beautiful design, are making a comeback after several years.

A silhouette made possible only by the smooth, seamless fillet welds.
The unique texture of chromoly steel. And the perfect balance that ensures the necessary strength while crafting a beautiful, finished industrial product.

Only a select few artisans at NITTO, who have mastered advanced techniques, are capable of crafting these stems.

Although both the Anna Lee and Caroline share the same “fillet stem” design, they are each engineered for different riding positions.

Anna Lee features a relatively high stack height of 72 mm and is available in two angles: 75° and 90°. It’s designed for bikes where you want to secure a firm handlebar position or create a relaxed riding posture.

In contrast, Caroline has a stack height of 42mm and an 80° angle.
It is designed with proportions that are well-suited for road bikes where you want to create a lower, more forward-leaning cockpit, or for achieving a sporty riding position.

Although these two stems differ in name and appearance, what they share is the beauty of NITTO’s craftsmanship—a quality that goes beyond mere functionality.

先日開催されたばかりのMADEの余韻がまだ冷めやらぬ中ではありますが、ローンチアナウンスでもご案内していた通り、このショーにあわせて用意したリミテッドアイテムをリリースします。

古来より「日の出る国」と呼ばれる日本からのスペシャルカラーオファー。その名もSunrise Collection。美しい朝焼けにインスパイアを受けたこのカラーを、Beatnik Seatpost・Tomboy Stemcap・Topcap・SimDrop・SimWorks By MKS Pedal Collectionのアイテム群で展開。

基本的にSimWorksのコンポーネントはSilverとBlackが基調ですが、Sunriseカラーのアイテムがあなたのバイクアッセンブルに一味変化を加えてくれます。マンゴー基調でカラーを揃えるのもいいですし、アクセントとしてもとても映えるカラーです。

Although the excitement from the recent MADE event is still fresh in our minds, as we mentioned in our launch announcement, we’re releasing the limited-edition items we prepared for the show.

A special color offering from Japan, a country known since ancient times as the “Land of the Rising Sun.” We’re calling it the Sunrise Collection. Inspired by a beautiful sunrise, this color is available across a range of products, including the Beatnik Seatpost, Tomboy Stemcap, Topcap, SimDrop, and the SimWorks By MKS Pedal Collection.

While SimWorks components are typically available in Silver and Black, the Sunrise-colored items will add a unique touch to your bike build. You can coordinate your bike with a mango-based color scheme, or use this color as a striking accent.

Launch Announcement MADE Bike Show 2026 / MADE

先週末8/21〜8/23にアメリカ・オレゴン州ポートランドで開催されたハンドメイドバイクの祭典 MADE Bike Show。

今年で4度目の開催となるこのショー、SimWorksUSAのオフィス兼ショールームを構えるポートランドでの地元開催ということもあり、初年度から毎年欠かさず出展しているこのショーに今年も出展しました。

今回のMADEショーでもいち早く新製品のアナウンスをしましたので、ブログにてそのリリーススケジュールとあわせてご紹介していています。是非チェックしてみてください。

Last weekend, August 21–23, the MADE Bike Show—a celebration of handmade bikes—was held in Portland, Oregon.

Now in its fourth year, this show takes place right here in Portland, where SimWorksUSA has its office and showroom. We’ve exhibited at this event every year since its inception, and we were there again this year.

We were among the first to announce new products at this year’s MADE Show, so we’ve posted details about them—along with their release schedule—on our blog. Be sure to check it out.
