Komatsu City, Ishikawa Prefecture: [Ataka no Yado Oki]
Ataka-cho, Komatsu City, Ishikawa Prefecture, is known as the setting for the Kabuki play "Kanjincho," one of the eighteen classic Kabuki plays.
This town, which has flourished since ancient times as a key point for maritime traffic on the Sea of Japan, has seen the exchange of not only people and goods, but also culture and aesthetic sensibilities.
Standing in this historic port town is Ataka no Yado Oki.
The former residence of the "Oki family," which prospered as a shipping agent, has been renovated.
This place, which supported the prosperity of the Kitamae-bune trade, has transcended time and is beginning a new chapter as an inn.
There are three guest rooms available: "Nagi" in the main building, "Getsumei" in the storehouse, and "Migiwa" in the storehouse.
Each room offers a unique and charming space where you can spend a quiet time while feeling the history and scenery of the port town.
The inn also features a gallery supervised by "Kinzan Kiln," allowing guests to experience art and crafts alongside their stay.
Enjoy a journey that reveals a new side of Komatsu from various perspectives.
