I apologize for the late update, as I haven't been able to post lately. Our beloved Konwan, who had been repeatedly falling ill and recovering since around this spring, passed away on Sep 9th ぱぐかふぇ&ドッグサロンわん!. Konwan had gallbladder issues, and recently, Dr. Mioko 大場 三緒子 visited us every week for house calls. We pursued treatment wishing to spend even just one more day together. Thanks to the treatments, he passed away peacefully without any suffering.
On the very same day Tsukune suddenly lost her appetite. While we were waiting for the vet to arrive, Tsukune’s whole body turned yellow. It was a liver issue. We started daily IV drips and treatments, but on 16th, the anemia worsened. With help from 犬舎人, we sought a second opinion to get a blood transfusion. We found out it was a liver tumor that had ruptured, causing a sudden spike in anemia. Since a transfusion wouldn’t stop the bleeding from the ruptured tumor, recovery was unlikely, and we made the decision to transition to palliative care. And today just after 5AM, Tsukune passed away peacefully, as if falling asleep. Thanks to our visiting vet, Tsukune was still walking around and eating treats just yesterday. This photo shows Tsukune eating treats yesterday—looking just like their usual self.
Thank you so much to everyone who showered Konwan and Tsukune with love. 🙏 I’ve been completely overwhelmed caring for the two of them alongside work, which is why I couldn’t post for a while. 🙏
In the midst of all this hectic time, a package arrived. My official certification as a Pet Yakuzen (Medicinal Food) Manager has delivered. This is a qualification I worked hard to get for Pork and Konwan, and it ended up helping Tsukune, too. Pork has made a recovery! I hope this qualification can be of help to rescue pugs in the future as well.Thank you, Konwan. Thank you to our staff, Dr. Oba, and our regular customers who came to say their goodbyes to Tsukune and Konwan. 🙏 Thank you so much for the beautiful flowers and treats. Tsukune’s cremation is scheduled for tomorrow, 21st.
Everyone, please send your thoughts and prayers up to the sky for them. 🙏
