【The area around Expo Memorial Park is packed with play spots.
We recommend the "sorādo" Aerial Observation Trail"
where you can take an aerial walk through the forest.】

The Yumeshima Expo is currently a hot topic, but the area around Expo Memorial Park,
which is located on the site of the Osaka Expo held 55 years ago in 1970, is packed with play spots.

The "Sorādo"Aerial Observation Trail" is especially fun for hiking with children!

You can walk through nature while enjoying the trees that change appearance with the seasons,
the chirping of birds, and the murmuring of waterfalls and rivers.

It is a promenade that feels like walking in the air, about 5 to 10 meters above the ground.
It is fun to observe leaves and nuts from a height that you cannot normally see!

There is an observation tower at the finish line.

At the "Nature Observation Learning Center" next to the starting point of "sorādo",

the various creatures that live in Expo Park are introduced.

In the vicinity, you'll also find Japan's largest complex, EXPO CITY, where you can enjoy both nature and entertainment.

We've included URL links to some of the most popular play spots in the area.

【The Truth about the Nankai Trough Earthquake Emergency Information】

On August 8, the Japan Meteorological Agency issued a Nankai Trough Earthquake Emergency Information
(Caution for a Major Earthquake) in response to a magnitude 6 earthquake off the coast of Miyazaki Prefecture.

Prime Minister Kishida called for caution and canceled his planned visit to Central Asia and other regions
from the 9th, saying he wanted to be fully prepared for the situation.

This was clearly a misjudgment, and is said to be one of the major reasons for his decision to abandon his bid for prime ministerial office.

The government's Earthquake Investigation Committee predicts that the next earthquake will occur in 88.2 years,
based on the fact that major earthquakes have occurred in the Nankai Trough at intervals of about 90 to 150 years over the past 1,400 years.

However, the reality is that there is a lack of data and predictions are impossible.

The Nankai Trough is not something that just started, and the situation has not changed.

Prime Minister Kishida did not need to cancel his visit to Asia, and should have said,
"Please continue to spend your time as usual,
but please reconfirm your earthquake preparations, such as stockpiles and evacuation routes.

It was a huge mistake to needlessly stir up anxiety and cause huge economic losses.

The truth is that there is no need for people considering traveling to Japan to be too worried.

【A Time Slip into Osaka's Past
The Osaka Museum of Housingand Living】

You can see Osaka's past from 300 years ago to the present.

The Edo period (1603-1867) was a time of samurai with short haircuts and swords.
In the Meiji Era (1868-1912), the isolation of the country was ended, Western culture was introduced, and civilization blossomed.

The Taisho and Showa eras were a time of modernization and rapid growth.

This is a museum specializing in history that deals with themes ranging from "living" to "urban development," with a focus on "housing.

It is the first museum in Japan to specialize in the theme of housing, rather than a general museum where history, folklore, archaeology, and art are exhibited in their entirety.
