A first for Shiseido! A new spot to take care of your skin: a lounge where you can remove your makeup before boarding your flight

"SHISEIDO HANEDA BOUTIQUE" is now open in Terminal 3.
At Shiseido's first-ever lounge, you can experience the world-renowned Japanese brand of "Shiseido." Products can be purchased at a tax-free price including limited-edition products, and you can also remove makeup and take care of your skin before you board your flight.

The lounge also provides a gift-wrapping service using an original furoshiki (traditional Japanese wrapping) only available at Haneda Airport.

When the day comes when you can visit Japan safely, please visit the lounge!

You can now check in to your flight with facial recognition using Face Express!

It is now possible to check-in within a minute.
By scanning your boarding pass and passport on a special registration machine and passing facial recognition, you can check in your baggage, enter the security checkpoint area, and also smoothly go through your boarding gate.
We support you through the boarding process in a non-contact and efficient manner.
It may be a while before we can travel abroad safely, but for the near future, Haneda Airport is steadily preparing services to support new ways of traveling!

Have you tried shaved ice in Japan?
Soft serve ice cream using Japanese green tea, such as matcha or hojicha, are placed on top of finely crushed ice.
Recently, matcha syrup and strawberries are popular toppings.
Arranging it with sticky "Shiratama Dango", an indispensable Japanese mochi which brings out sweetness, is also exquisite.

In Japan, it is a tradition to eat shaved ice in the summer. You can also try it at Haneda Airport!

Amanda from Brazil is one of the staff members who support Haneda Airport, the cleanest airport in the world.
Influenced by a Japanese cleaning consultant who is very popular even in the United States, she loves to clean!

Amanda's job is called an "environmental concierge." She walks around Terminal 3 to assist with cleaning, and she guides customer in need using both English and Japanese.

In order to prevent infections, she is currently refraining from providing guidance to customers and instead focusing on disinfection and cleaning tasks.

The key to disinfection in the fight against the coronavirus is to cover all places that customers are likely to touch. For instance, check-in counters, chairs, elevator buttons, escalators, and of course, the telescopes, monitor screens, and also handrails on the outdoor observation deck.

The following areas are also cleaned thoroughly:
・ Handsets and buttons
・ All handrails in the terminal.
・ Beds and nursing machines in the nursing room
・ Vending machine buttons and coin slots
She sanitizes these areas that she notices many times throughout the day.

It is easy to think that Japanese people are good at detailed cleaning, but there are other staff members from other countries who support the cleanest airport (* 1) in the world. In addition to Amanda, there are staff members from the Philippines and Malaysia.

Amanda moved to Japan two years ago because her of her husband's job situation. She is studying Japanese while working at Haneda Airport. Her husband and children enjoy living in Japan very much. As a family, they enjoy eating seasonal fruits and Japanese dishes such as meat and potatoes.

"I want the customers to feel at ease," said Amanda, while working hard at her job.

The International Terminal still has few passengers today, but we are always keeping the area clean in anticipation of the day that many people from overseas will visit again.

A town about 400 years old above the departure lobby!?
Japanese architecture

Did you know that there is an "Edo town" in Haneda Airport?
This is a spot where you can enjoy how Japan was in the past -- the streets of Edo from about 400 years ago have been recreated.

Today, we are introducing a side that usually cannot be seen.

On the left is "Haneda Nihonbashi," which runs across the 4th and 5th floors.
There is a recreation of the Nihonbashi bridge, which served as a hub for traveling in Japan back then. It is about half the size of the original and is about 25 meters long.
You can walk on this bridge -- it is a popular spot for taking pictures!

On the right side, you can see "Okonomi Yokocho." Japanese restaurants with red lanterns are lined up. On the floor above is "Festival Plaza," where a "dashi" (roofed float decoration for festivals) is on display.

This piece was created to allow visitors from all over the world to experience the culture and hospitality of Japan.

When it is safe enough to travel again, please come to this area to enjoy Japanese culture and food!

Haneda Airport Obtains international certification for countermeasures against infectious diseases!

Haneda Airport has received AHA international certification (*1), which evaluates and certifies 122 items pertaining to airports including cleaning and disinfection measures inside the terminal, actions for ensuring social distance, and usage of contactless devices.

We have implemented various measures including the wearing of masks by airport staff, placement of disinfectant solutions, periodic disinfection inside the building using disinfection robots, and the use of remote guidance robots.

Our staff will continue to make further efforts so that everyone can use our services with more peace of mind than before!

In airports in Japan, the staff will load/unload luggage quickly and accurately in the 90 minutes after a plane arrives!

In Japan, there is a custom of writing wishes on a wooden plaque called Ema.
At the Festival Plaza located on the 5th floor of Terminal 3, visitors from all over the world are writing their wishes on our original wooden plaques that have an airline ticket design.

When you can travel safely again, please write down your dreams and hopes here!

We will provide with our new style of customer service!
Our concierge staff provide guidance information of the airport.
They keep in mind to serve customers with polite Japanese hospitality while maintaining a social distance.
The concierge staff wear masks and face shields, and are mindful about disinfecting their hands.

A robot is also set up at the information counter on the arrival floor to answer questions by customers remotely.

The concierge staff at Haneda Airport International Terminal can speak not only English, but also Chinese and Korean. Floor guides are also available in English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Korean. To know the languages that a staff member can speak, please take a look at the badge on their chest.

Our airport staff are introducing new styles of service every day while waiting for the day when people around the world can visit Japan with a peace of mind!

Supports 7 languages! Contact-less self baggage drop machines

At Haneda Airport, you can now check in your bags without coming into contact with an airport staff!

The self baggage drop machines are easy to use.

After placing your luggage on the conveyor belt, simply hold your boarding pass over the machine and follow the on-screen instructions to attach the baggage tag to your baggage.
The conveyor belt is flat against the floor, so even heavy luggage can be easily placed on it.

Finally, pick up your receipt and head to the departure inspection area!

In addition, there are also automatic check-in kiosks that allow you to check in without having to contact a staff member.

At Haneda Airport, we will continue to take measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus so that everyone can fly with a peace of mind.
