Though it is close to big cities like Osaka, Kyoto, Nara etc, Wakayama is rich in beautiful nature such as waterfall, deep mountains, white sand beaches and cliffs. Our two major UNESCO world heritage sites, Koyasan and K

umano, are together registered as 'Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range'. If you are looking for the destination for relaxing and making yourself at home, Wakayama would be one of your choices!!

Every year on July 14, Kumano Nachi Taisha Grand Shrine hosts one of its most spectacular festivals. During this sacred ritual, massive burning torches are carried from the shrine to the breathtaking Nachi Falls. The fire purifies the path, guiding the shrine’s twelve deities to the waterfall in a powerful display of worship. 🔥🌊
