こんにちは。今日ご紹介するのは、山口市湯田温泉の中心地にあるとても雰囲気の良いカフェ「PRONTO」になります。スターバックスで見られるようなスイーツやアイスラテ、コーヒーはもちろん、パスタやホットドッグなども楽しむ事ができます。私は、チェダーチーズドッグを食べましたが、チーズが濃厚で口の中でとろける感じが堪らなかったです。写真の通り、外観内観ともにお洒落ですし、23時まで営業しています。さらに先日紹介した温泉・梅乃屋の近くにあるため、温泉に入った後に湯冷しも兼ねて立ち寄るのは非常に良いのではないかと思っています。

Hello! Today, I’d like to introduce a wonderful café called PRONTO, located in the heart of Yuda Onsen, Yamaguchi City.

At this café, you can enjoy not only sweets, iced lattes, and coffee—just like you’d find at Starbucks—but also pasta, hot dogs, and more. I tried the cheddar cheese dog, and it was absolutely delicious. The rich, melted cheese was irresistible!

As you can see in the photos, both the exterior and interior of the café are stylish, and it’s open until 11 PM. Plus, since it’s close to Umenoya, the hot spring I introduced the other day, stopping by after a relaxing soak would be a perfect way to cool down.

こんにちは。今日は、900円で楽しめる、湯田温泉の核「温泉」のうち特にオススメの施設をお伝えします！
こちらは「梅乃屋」です。これまで様々な温泉に行って参りましたが、ここは指折りの良いお宿（温泉）でした。具体的に良かった点は、「美肌の湯」と言われているのですが、温泉に入っている時から、お湯にトロトロさを感じることができ、実際にお風呂から上がったあと、頬っぺたを触ると今まで感じたことがないほど、ツルツルになっていて感動しました。というのも、ここの湯は、水道水で薄めていないからです。露天風呂に限っては、100%源泉掛け流しということです。なお、脱衣所備え付けのオリジナル化粧水と乳液を施すと、お肌のツルツルに拍車をかけ、それだけで気分が良くなります！再度言いますが、「美肌の湯」と謳っているところで実際に効能を感じたのは初めてです！
さらに素晴らしいのは、宿のスタッフさんの対応や挨拶です。さすがは高級旅館と言わんばかりの丁寧で気持ちの良い接客をしていただきました。「おもてなし」精神を全面的に感じる良いところでした。是非、足を運んでみてください。
2ヶ月程前には橋本環奈さんが宿泊していたと聞いておりますが、本当にそれに値するほど良い湯だったと思います。

Hello! Today, I’d like to introduce one of the best hot spring facilities in Yuda Onsen.

This place is “Umenoya.” I’ve visited many hot springs before, but this one was among the best.

⚫︎What makes it so great?
It is known as a “beautifying hot spring,” and I could feel the smooth, silky texture of the water the moment I stepped in. After getting out, I touched my cheeks and was amazed—they were unbelievably smooth! The reason? Unlike many other hot springs, the water here is not diluted with tap water. In fact, the open-air bath is 100% natural spring water, continuously flowing from the source.

To top it off, the original lotion and moisturizer provided in the changing room enhance the smoothness of your skin, making you feel even more refreshed and pampered. I’ve been to many hot springs that claim to be “beautifying,” but this is the first time I truly experienced the effects!

⚫︎Exceptional Hospitality
Another highlight was the outstanding hospitality. The staff were incredibly polite and welcoming, offering service that truly matched the standards of a luxury ryokan. Their “omotenashi” spirit was evident in every interaction, making the stay even more special.

I highly recommend visiting Umenoya. It’s worth experiencing for yourself!

今回は、山陰「長門市」にある湯本温泉街の夜の街並みをご紹介しようと思います。
12月に訪れましたが、紅葉（異常気象によりシーズンがずれ込んだようです）ライトアップと合わせて、竹林ライトアップ、さらにはプロジェクションマッピングが行われていて、非常に神秘的な雰囲気を味わうことができました。遊歩道もかなり綺麗に整備されていますし、何より観光客でごった返していないので、のんびり存分にその雰囲気に浸ることができます。
所々にベンチがあるのですが、私は何も考えずにそのベンチに座り、景色を見ながら物思いに老けていましたら、あっという間に1時間が経っていました。是非、こちらには足を運んでいってもらいたいところであります。
実は、こちら、あのプーチン大統領のおもてなしが企画されていたようです。（プーチン大統領のフライト遅れにより、急遽予定が流れたようですが）

This time, I’d like to introduce the nighttime scenery of Yumoto Onsen, located in Nagato City, San’in.

I visited in December, and despite the season being delayed due to unusual weather, I was able to enjoy a truly mystical atmosphere with the illuminated autumn foliage, a beautifully lit bamboo forest, and even projection mapping. The promenade is well maintained, and since the area isn’t overcrowded with tourists, you can fully immerse yourself in the serene ambiance at a leisurely pace.

There are benches scattered throughout the area, and I found myself sitting on one without much thought, simply gazing at the scenery. Before I knew it, an hour had passed. I highly recommend visiting this place if you get the chance.

Interestingly, this location was once planned as part of the hospitality for President Putin. However, due to a delay in his flight, the plans were suddenly canceled.

Today, we'd like to introduce Otani Sanso, a renowned ryokan located in Yumoto Onsen, Nagato City, the hometown of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
Otani Sanso is highly praised by travelers for its exceptional hot springs, stunning views, and serene atmosphere. In fact, Yumoto Onsen has been selected as one of the top hot springs in satisfaction surveys conducted by major travel agencies. Otani Sanso itself was even considered as a venue to host Russian President Vladimir Putin, a plan strongly supported by Prime Minister Abe. This reflects the high regard for this hotel and the surrounding area.

今日は、山口カルスト大地での早春の風物詩「山焼き」のご紹介をいたします。毎年2月に、この山焼きは毎年2月に、日本最大級の規模感で行われています。なお今年の日程は2月16日となっています。見るだけでも大変美しいのですが、予約をした人限定で「山焼きの体験」をすることができます。詳しくは、「山口県秋吉台青少年自然の家」のホームページをご覧ください。価格設定も1000円以下で非常にリーズナブルな設定となっています。お子さん連れのご家族団体様におすすめとなっております。また、秋吉台もかなり近いですので、同時に楽しんでいただけます。

Today, we’d like to introduce the early spring tradition of “Yamayaki” (mountain burning) on the Yamaguchi Karst Plateau. This event, held annually in February, is one of the largest of its kind in Japan. This year, it is scheduled for February 16. While simply watching the event is breathtaking, those who make a reservation can enjoy a hands-on “Yamayaki experience.”

For more details, please visit the website of the Yamaguchi Prefecture Akiyoshidai Youth Nature House. The price is very reasonable, set at under 1,000 yen, making it an excellent choice for families with children. Additionally, Akiyoshidai is nearby, so you can enjoy both attractions on the same trip!

さて、本日は、日本を代表する日本庭園である【常栄寺雪舟庭】をご紹介します。雪舟庭は、29代大内氏が室町時代に築庭したものと言われており、雪舟の山水画そのままの名園として知れらています。気づいたら1時間経っている、というくらいに没頭させてくれる庭園です。
【オススメの楽しみ方】
寺の中の畳の間に座って、何も考えずただ外の日本庭園を眺めましょう。15分くらい経ってくると自分で悟りを開いてしまうでしょう笑　そのような楽しみ方ができるのは、観光客で溢れておらず、落ち着いた雰囲気の山口にある観光地ならではの楽しみ方ではないでしょうか。時間に追われない緩やかな時をお過ごしください。

Today, we’d like to introduce Jōei-ji Temple Sesshū Garden, one of Japan’s most iconic traditional gardens. It is said to have been designed during the Muromachi period by the 29th lord of the Ōuchi clan and is renowned as a masterpiece that brings Sesshū’s ink wash paintings to life. This garden is so captivating that you may find yourself lost in its beauty for over an hour without realizing it.

Recommended Way to Enjoy It:
Sit in the tatami room inside the temple, let go of all thoughts, and simply gaze at the Japanese garden outside. After about 15 minutes, you might feel as if you’ve reached enlightenment—just kidding! This unique experience is possible because Yamaguchi’s tourist spots are not overcrowded, offering a calm and serene atmosphere. Take your time to enjoy a relaxing and unhurried moment here.

紅葉が特に圧巻で、どこを見ても赤々としており、人の心を揺さぶる感動ものです。

山口県には、知られざる紅葉スポットがたくさんあります。今回は、私たち観光案内所員が、激選したいくつかの紅葉スポットを紹介いたします。（なお、写真は今年のものです！）正直、こんなに綺麗なのに、それを見にくる人（地元の人はそれなりにいます）が少なく、人混みに揉まれることなく秋の風情を感じられることは本当に幸せなことです。のんびり美しい秋に浸りたい方、来年以降参考にしてください。来年は、見頃の前にリマインドして、皆さんが現地で楽しんでいただけるように努めてまいります。

Ryosoji Temple (Yamaguchi City)
The autumn foliage here is truly breathtaking, with vibrant red leaves stretching as far as the eye can see. It’s a sight that moves the heart and leaves a lasting impression.

Yamaguchi Prefecture is home to many hidden spots for viewing autumn leaves. This time, we at the tourist information center have carefully selected a few of the best locations to introduce to you. (The photos shown are from this year!) To be honest, despite their incredible beauty, these spots remain relatively uncrowded, with only a modest number of locals visiting. This makes it a rare privilege to enjoy the charm of autumn without being overwhelmed by crowds.

If you’re someone who wants to immerse yourself in the serene beauty of autumn, take note for next year. We’ll do our best to send reminders before the peak season so you can fully enjoy the experience on-site.
