🌟 What an incredible experience at the Grand Nairobi Bike Race! 🚴♂️ The anticipation leading up to the event felt like a kid waiting for a long-anticipated adventure.
Traveling with nearly 60 riders from different counties—Vihiga, Kakamega, Kitale, and around Eldoret—under the Black Mamba category was a unique experience. We were picked up in the middle of the night, and as we hit the road, I had to learn the art of patience. Our journey was challenging. We encountered an accident that blocked the Nakuru-Eldoret highway, adding hours to our travel time.
We finally arrived in Nairobi on Saturday afternoon, ready to meet up and sort out logistics. It wasn’t until the early hours of the night that we found accommodation and something to eat. Despite the challenges, the excitement was on another level, especially knowing this was the final event of the Kenya Cycling Race Series for 2024.
Participating in this race was a true honor. I experienced challenges and am glad I finished the race. Along with everything I’ve learned this experience was an eye-opener and has made me stronger.
Congratulations to all who participated—you should be proud! A special thanks to my fellow wafinyi for the unwavering support, everyone that made this experience worth while and to Jubilee Insurance Company of Kenya for making this event possible.
Let’s keep the momentum going for Kenya Cycling! I’m looking forward to the and especially excited about the CAC Bicycle Race African Championship happening in my hometown of Eldoret, running until the 12th!
