NOTICE TO OUR CUSTOMERS

Following the announcement by the Matatu Owners Association regarding a nationwide strike in protest of the recent fuel price increase, RedBus Kisumu intends to temporarily halt operations in solidarity with the industry.

We are joining the nationwide strike in support of efforts to lower fuel prices, which would help make public transport fares more affordable for our passengers.

Operations may resume once the situation is resolved and normal conditions return.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding and support.

NOTICE TO OUR VALUED PASSENGERS

Due to the extremely poor condition of the current road along our route to Chiga, our vehicles have continued to suffer serious mechanical damage and excessive wear and tear. The situation has now reached a level that is no longer sustainable for normal operations.
We wish to inform the public that if the road is not repaired by the end of this month, RedBus Kisumu may be forced to cease operations on the affected route in order to protect passenger safety and prevent further destruction of our buses.

To help maintain service while minimizing damage to our vehicles, we have planned an alternative circulation route that will take effect as needed:
Some buses will operate from town towards Kibos, then connect through the Kibos Factory road to Guba area in Mamboleo before returning to town.
Other buses will operate in the opposite direction — from town through Mamboleo and Guba area, then exit via the Kibos Factory road back to town.

These changes will begin as from 1st June 2026.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused and thank all our passengers for their patience, support, and understanding during this difficult period.

We also respectfully urge the relevant authorities to address the condition of the road as soon as possible to restore normal transport operations and protect public service vehicles serving residents daily.

IMPORTANT NOTICES ON REDBUS OPERATIONS
1. Following the recent increase in fuel prices, RedBus Kisumu has reviewed its fare structure.

Due to the direct impact of fuel costs on our daily operations, we have implemented an adjustment to our fares effective immediately. This decision has been made to ensure the continued provision of safe, reliable, and efficient transport services to our passengers.

2. Kindly note that as of 16th April 2026, Redbus will NOT accept cash payments. Kindly use the MPESA TILL NUMBERS on the buses. Only Uniformed students will be allowed to pay cash.
