Waterbus successfully conducted a multi-stakeholder safety drill on Lake Victoria, reinforcing our commitment to safety and emergency preparedness across the region.

The exercise brought together key partners and stakeholders, including Kenya Red Cross Society (Headquarters & Regional teams), the Homa-bay County Department of Blue Economy & Fisheries, Disaster Management teams from Homa Bay and Kisumu, the Kenya Coast Guard Service, and our local Beach Management Units.

This initiative is part of our annual commitment to sensitizing communities and stakeholders on how to effectively respond in case of emergencies on the lake. Through collaboration, training, and preparedness, we continue to strengthen safety standards and protect lives on Lake Victoria.

*Important Update for WaterBus Passengers*

To enhance efficiency and better serve you, WaterBus has rolled out Waiting Bay Ticketing Services.

This service is now fully operational at:
- Luanda Kotieno Landing Site
- Mbita Point Landing Site

All passengers departing from these locations are kindly requested to purchase their tickets at the Waiting Bay Ticketing Office before boarding.Tickets will be issued for:
• Passengers
• Cargo and Parcels
We also encourage cashless transactions where possible to expedite and secure the process.

The loss of WaterBus founder Malcolm Ormiston will always be deeply felt, a space left unfilled, a leadership unmatched, a heart irreplaceable.

Through his desire to provide safe, reliable water transport on Lake Victoria, he touched lives, connected communities, and built hope.

The roars of the engines remind us of him, the waters remember him, and the communities he served continue to feel his impact.

Today, our vessel MV Ormiston became more than a vessel ,it became a place of life.
A baby girl was safely delivered onboard the WaterBus thanks to the calm courage, teamwork, and quick response of our incredible crew.

Both mother and baby are doing well, and we are beyond grateful to have played a small role in welcoming a new life into the world , right on the waters of Lake Victoria.

This moment reminds us why safety, preparedness, and humanity are at the heart of what we do.
