PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY: OVER 100 RESIDENTS IGNORED BY NAIROBI WATER!
📍 Location: Tassia (Rheemah Hospital to Penda Medical Centre Corridor), Lower Embakasi
📄 Petition Served: Stamped & Received on October 2, 2026 by NCWSC Lower Embakasi Regional Office.
⏱️ Status: ZERO Action. ZERO Response.
Families and children in Tassia are currently living with raw, overflowed sewage leaking directly into their living spaces and doorways. We followed official procedure. We gathered signatures from over 100 affected residents and formally served the Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC).
Two weeks later, the silence from the authorities is deafening while the health risk grows daily.
Article 43 of the Kenyan Constitution guarantees every citizen the right to reasonable standards of sanitation and clean water. We demand immediate emergency action:
Dispatch emergency unblocking equipment to clear the main sewer line along the Rheemah–Penda corridor today.
Provide an official action plan for the permanent upgrade of Tassia’s sewerage infrastructure.

Dear Governor Sakaja
We are writing to you in desperation regarding a critical public health and infrastructure crisis affecting thousands of tax-paying residents in the area between Rheema and Penda Hospital. The current sewage corridor has suffered a total collapse and requires immediate replacement.
The history of this line is the root of the problem. It was originally installed more than 20 years ago by private residents using undersized 6-inch pipes. This system was never designed for the current population, which now includes numerous multi-story buildings. The existing line simply cannot handle the volume of residents using it daily, leading to this catastrophic failure.
This situation is not just an inconvenience; it is a major health hazard and a gross failure of public duty to provide basic services. We demand immediate intervention from your office to oversee the complete replacement of this sewage infrastructure with a line that is properly engineered to accommodate the current population density.
To ensure a comprehensive and authoritative assessment, we are requesting an urgent, multi-agency site visit to include:
The Governor’s Environment Office to witness the environmental catastrophe.
The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) for technical assessment.
The County Executive for Public Health to address the immediate health risks.
We further request that His Excellency, Governor Sakaja, use his office to push for the inclusion of all relevant stakeholders and concerned parties to ensure this matter is treated with the extreme urgency it demands.
If this urgent infrastructure crisis is not prioritized and acted upon immediately, we reserve the right to escalate this matter further through administrative channels, public media, and legal avenues for gross failure of public duty.
We look forward to your prompt and decisive action.
