🐘 14 Gentle Giants. Gone in Just Two Weeks. 💔

The future of ecosystems like Amboseli depends on the choices we make today.

We woke up to the heartbreaking news from the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) about the mysterious deaths of 14 elephants in the Amboseli ecosystem.

At Aslan Adventure Tours & Travel Ltd., this news has deeply saddened us.

Elephants are far more than a safari attraction or one of the "Big Five." They are part of Kenya's identity, a cornerstone of our ecosystems, and one of the reasons travelers from across the world choose to experience the beauty of our country.

Anyone who has visited Amboseli knows the unforgettable sight of elephant families roaming freely beneath the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro. It is a privilege to witness, and the loss of 14 of these magnificent animals in such a short time is truly heartbreaking.

This tragedy reminds us that conservation is a shared responsibility.

As a tourism community, we must continue to support:

1. Scientific & Veterinary Investigations – Giving KWS experts the support they need to determine the cause of these deaths.

2. Community Conservancies – Strengthening conservation efforts where wildlife and communities live side by side.

3. Sustainable Tourism – Choosing responsible travel that helps protect habitats and ensures wildlife can thrive for generations to come.

Our thoughts are with the Kenya Wildlife Service veterinary teams, field rangers, and everyone working tirelessly to protect the remaining herds and uncover the cause of these tragic losses.

As we await the findings of the ongoing investigations, we remain hopeful that they will lead to stronger conservation measures and help prevent future losses.

May we never become numb to news like this.
