5 Day Namibia Highlights Etosha and Opuwo

DAY 1 – WINDHOEK – ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK – OKAUKUEJO

Travelling distance: 434 km via A1 and C38 We will collect guests from their accommodation and depart for Etosha National Park. We will drive on A1 main road in the northern direction to the prime wildlife sanctuary, the Etosha National Park. On route, we will pass through the “Crocodile and Cheetah” town of Otjiwarongo, before entering the park through Anderson Gate. We stay overnight at Okaukuejo Rest Camp.

DAY 2 – ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK – DOLOMITE CAMP OR SIMILAR

Travelling distance: 245 km via D2695 In the morning, we depart Okaukuejo Rest Camp and game drive through the park passing more waterholes, until we reach Dolomite Camp on the western side of Etosha National Park. We overnight at this camp, there is a good chance to see more wildlife and to relax as well, before proceeding to the Himba town the following morning.

DAY 3 – ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK – DOLOMITE – OPUWO

After breakfast, we depart Dolomite Camp, Etosha National Park through western Galton Gate to Opuwo. We drive on C35 and C41 main roads before reaching Opuwo, the capital of the sparsely populated Kunene region in the north western Namibia with a population of only 12 000 inhabitants. Late in the afternoon, we stroll down the main street of this town where Himba, Damara, Mucawana (originally from Angola) tribes meet and sell local artefacts and traditional jewellery. We overnight at Opuwo Country Lodge.

DAY 4 – OPUWO

In the morning, we drive for an unforgettable visit to the Himba village with a local Himba guide, learning about their fascinating way of life. Unique opportunity for observing an exotic culture and customs. The village is approximately 12 km outside of Opuwo and this is where this unique tribe still lives.

DAY 5 – OPUWO – WINDHOEK

Travelling distance: 733 km via C35 and A1 After breakfast we depart back to Windhoek, the capital city of Namibia. Along the way, we will have stops to stretch our legs, lunch and take pictures of the magnificent landscapes. We arrive in Windhoek late afternoon and we transfer the guests to their accommodation or directly to the international airport.
