Your Guide in the Rift Valley
I’m Joseph Ole Kodonyo, a trained ornithologist, naturalist, and safari guide born in the Rift Valley. For me, guiding isn’t just guiding. It’s finding you Sharpe’s Longclaw in Kinangop grasslands at dawn, watching Verreaux’s Eagle-Owl call at dusk in Soysambu, and sharing that “we found it!” moment with you.
No rushed game drives. No fake “cultural villages”. Just real birds, real wildlife, real Kenya.
Don't forget the great migration. Between July and October, one and a half million wildebeest, accompanied by vast numbers of Zebras and Gazelles, make the long and dangerous trek from Tanzania’s Serengeti northwards towards this corner of Kenya.
Lines of animals stretch as far as the eye can see across the open plains, but the most dramatic of all is the moment when the migration arrives at the Mara River; they must cross it to reach the rich grazing areas on the other side. It takes the bravest to plunge first into the swirling currents, and thousands follow. Meanwhile, keen crocodiles cruise the waters ...
If witnessing the Great Migration is a dream for you, the good news is that we do have small pockets of availability here and there.
