GOD STORIES FROM KENYA 🇰🇪❤️ | MEET ANDREW

Andrew is a 77-year-old man we had the opportunity to meet and share with during outreach. He was very kind, had an amazing smile, and welcomed us as we sat and talked with him.

As we began sharing, we learned that Andrew had head knowledge of the Bible, but he was unsure of his salvation and whether he would go to Heaven. He allowed us to share the Gospel with him, as well as our personal testimonies.

After spending time talking and praying together, Andrew prayed to receive Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. 🙌❤️

Praise the Lord!

As we continued visiting with Andrew, he shared more of his story with us. When he was young, he was involved in an accident that left him with a fractured leg. On the day of his accident, doctors across the county went on strike. When he arrived at the hospital, there was no one available to properly attend to him, and he was sent home with his fractured leg.

All these years later, Andrew gets around using the small stool you see him sitting on.

But God was working in more ways than one that day. ❤️

Through Klein’s Mobility Ministry, CMN, and Faith Baptist Church, which donated the walking sticks (crutches), we were able to return later that afternoon and present Andrew with walking sticks to help with his mobility.

His reaction is something I will never forget.

Andrew cried as he stood and tried out his new walking sticks. He was so thankful. The videos of that moment will bring tears to my eyes every single time I watch them.

We went to Andrew's home to share Jesus, but God knew every part of Andrew's story before we ever arrived.

In one day, we had the privilege of seeing Andrew begin a new walk with Christ and then watching him take steps with his new walking sticks.

One man. One story. One God working in so many ways. 🙏❤️

Please pray for Andrew—that his new relationship with Christ will continue to grow through the local church and that his walking sticks will make his daily life a little easier.

This is one of those moments I will carry home from Kenya and never forget. Blessed beyond measure. 🇰🇪❤️

KENYA — DAY SIX 🇰🇪 | GOD IS WORKING IN ALL THINGS 🙏❤️

Today our outreach was from Masubeti Baptist Church, and our team had the blessing of having the church’s pastor serve as our interpreter.

We were actually supposed to be in a different location today, but because of a schedule change, plans shifted and we ended up here instead.

It was all in God’s plan. ❤️

We were able to share the Gospel with so many people today. One thing that continues to touch my heart is how willing the people here are to stop what they are doing, welcome us, listen, and allow us to share with them.

Today we had the privilege of praying over a 97-year-old woman, visiting the pastor’s home and praying over his family, and praying with each group after we shared the Gospel with them. So many moments that remind us why God brought us here.

Because of the current restrictions on gatherings, each day we have needed to finish our outreach by 1:00 PM. Yet even in that, God has provided the time and opportunities we needed.

And then there’s the rain. 🌧️ Every day it has held off while we were out walking and sharing—and then, almost like clockwork, it begins after we are safely back in the vans headed toward the hotel.

Coincidence? Maybe.

But after watching God work through so many details of this trip, I’m choosing to simply say, “Thank You, Lord.” 🙏

Tomorrow morning we head out for our last day of outreach before beginning our journey back toward Nairobi.

Please pray that God places many people in our paths tomorrow with open hearts ready to hear the Gospel. Pray that we recognize every opportunity He gives us and make the most of our final day of outreach.

And then…back on the road! 🚐🇰🇪

Please pray for traveling grace and protection as we make our way toward Nairobi.

God has had His hand on every detail of this trip, and we have truly been blessed beyond measure. ❤️🙏

One more day of outreach.
One more day to share.
One more day to see what God has planned.

Keep the prayers coming! 🇰🇪❤️

KENYA — DAY FIVE 🇰🇪 | BLESSED BEYOND MEASURE 🙏❤️

This morning after breakfast, Teresa, Craig, and I discovered that the roof of our hotel has some AMAZING views! Of course, we had to take a few minutes to enjoy them and snap some pictures before starting another full day.

We quickly loaded up and headed out for outreach about an hour away. Today we were being sent out from Arowet Baptist Church.

I continue to take pictures from the van of the beautiful people we pass along the way. There are so many faces, places, and moments that I want to remember long after this trip is over. 🇰🇪❤️

Once we arrived, we divided back into our teams with our interpreters and local church members and headed into the community to share Jesus.

And God BLESSED our day! 🙌

Combined, our teams were able to share the Gospel with more than 100 people today! There are so many amazing, heartfelt stories from just this one day. I will be sharing one of my team's “God Stories” in an upcoming post—and trust me, you won’t want to miss it. ❤️

One of the neat things this week has been seeing how God has allowed us to use something as simple as a bracelet to share the Gospel in different ways.

On Sunday, we used the glow-in-the-dark bracelets with the children as we taught them that Jesus is the Light and that we are called to let our lights shine for Him. 💡

Today, bracelets became a way to explain the meaning of a free gift—something you cannot earn and something you cannot pay for. We would give someone a bracelet and then use that simple gift to lead into Scripture:

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” — Romans 6:23

What a beautiful reminder that salvation isn't something we can earn or purchase. It is a gift. ❤️

Many miles were walked.
Many rocks were crossed.
Many hills were climbed.
And more than a few fences were crawled through! 😂

But none of that compares to the many seeds that were planted today. 🌱

Please pray with us that those seeds will be fruitful—that the people we met will continue to grow through the local churches and that souls will continue to be saved long after we have returned home. Our time here is short, but we pray the impact of the Gospel continues long after we leave.

We ended our night with a special surprise from Martin—ICE CREAM! 🍦 After the miles we covered today, I think we earned that one! 😂

And for today's hotel update…

WE HAD ELECTRICITY AND WATER WHEN WE GOT BACK! 🙌🚿😂

At this point, that absolutely qualifies as another answered prayer!

Today we walked, climbed, crawled, shared, laughed, prayed, and watched God work.

Day Five — Blessed Beyond Measure. ❤️🇰🇪🙏

Keep praying. God is working!

KENYA — DAY FOUR 🇰🇪 | OUTREACH DAY 🙏❤️

Well, today we hit a maximum UV index of 14! ☀️🥵 It was not overly hot, but at the same time the sun was just REALLY strong. I don't know if that makes sense to anyone but me, you understand! 😂 Either way, we definitely felt the African sun today.

Our outreach was led out of Kapsogut Baptist Church. We divided into five teams, with an interpreter and a local church member assigned to each group. Then they sent us in all different directions into the surrounding community.

Each team had completely different experiences depending on the area where they were sent and the people they encountered. We went from home to home, sharing, listening, praying, and simply spending time with people.

By the end of the day, we believe there were around 30 professions of faith! 🙌❤️

PRAISE THE LORD!

Every team came back with stories of the kindness and hospitality shown to us by the people we visited. We went out hoping to be a blessing, but once again, we found ourselves being blessed by the people we met.

An afternoon thunderstorm rolled into the area and cut our outreach a little short. ⛈️ Tomorrow, we will head to a different community and do it all again!

The team is still in good spirits, healthy, and excited to see what God has planned for another day of outreach tomorrow. Please continue praying for the people we will meet and that God will prepare hearts before we ever arrive.

SIDE NOTE FROM KENYA… 😂

When we returned to the hotel, we once again discovered that we had no water AND no electricity. At this point, trying to shower and wash our hair has become an adventure all its own!

The ladies have officially turned this into hat days, and cold showers are quickly becoming the norm—when there is water to actually take one! 🧢🚿😂

We wake up each morning (or really anytime of day) having no idea what to expect, and maybe that is part of the lesson. We can make all the plans we want, but God continues to remind us that He is in control.

Praise the Lord for Day Four. Keep the prayers coming as we head into another community tomorrow!

KENYA — DAY THREE 🇰🇪 | LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE! 💡❤️

Day Three started with breakfast at 8:00 AM. We won’t mention who didn’t get that memo. 😂

Of course, we started the day with no power, which meant cold showers for everyone! Thankfully, the power came back on just as we were loading the vans to leave for church. 🙌

It took about 45 minutes to get to the church. Along the way, we saw so many people out walking and washing clothes. Maybe it’s a Sunday thing? I’m still learning—and still asking plenty of questions!

When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the church family. ❤️

The ladies on our team spent time with the children teaching a Bible lesson about being the light and letting our lights shine for Jesus. We gave each child a glow-in-the-dark bracelet as a reminder to keep shining for Him. Then came one of my favorite parts—we taught them “This Little Light of Mine.” 🎶💡 Seeing them sing and participate was definitely a special moment.

While we were with the children, Mr. Bill taught the adults inside the church. After about 30 minutes, we all moved inside for worship.

Church began with lots of singing and worship through song, followed by Mr. John sharing the message, and then—you guessed it—more singing! 🎶🙌

Our team presented the church with a picture book from the 2025 mission trip. Then things got interesting! 😂 They had our team go out the back doors and dance our way back to the front, following their worship leaders. Let’s just say some of us may have been a little more gifted in this area than others! Our dancing abilities—or lack thereof—even managed to scare one sweet little girl into tears. 😂 Bless her heart!

Once we made it to the front, the church presented each member of our team with a fabric wrap as a blessing for our journey. Such a beautiful gesture and a special memory we will carry home with us. ❤️🇰🇪

After church, we moved into Pastor Johana’s home for lunch before loading the vans and heading back to the hotel.

There were lots of smiles, pictures, laughter, worship, and fun throughout the day. These are the moments that make the long flights, bumpy roads, cold showers, and unexpected adventures completely worth it.

We had a few hours to rest and shower before dinner at 6:30 PM. We had water AND electricity! Then Bo sent us to our rooms with our marching orders for tomorrow: breakfast at 7:30 AM and departure at 8:00 AM for outreach about an hour away from our hotel.

Tomorrow we take the Gospel beyond the church walls and into the community. ❤️

Please keep the prayers coming. Pray for safe travels, for our team to be willing and ready, and especially for every person God places in our path tomorrow. Pray that we listen well, love well, and most importantly, that we let His light shine through us. 💡🙏🇰🇪

KENYA — DAY TWO 🇰🇪 | ANOTHER TRAVEL DAY! 🚐

We were up and downstairs for breakfast by 7:00 AM…unless your last name was Hancock and you overslept. 😂 We won’t name names beyond that!

Martin arrived with two vans to transport our team to Sotik, where we will be staying for the next few days.

The next four hours were spent gazing out the windows, taking in a culture and landscape so different from home. There was always something to see—and I definitely had plenty of questions! We also experienced a few sudden brakes for animals crossing the road and some HUGE speed bumps—or maybe we should just call them hills in the middle of the road. 😂 Apparently, they take slowing down seriously here!

At our bathroom stop, we tried some local snacks, and Craig had the opportunity to visit with a couple whose car had broken down. The captions under the pictures will explain a little more about some of the things we saw and what was shared with us along the way.

Anyone who knows me knows that I ask A LOT of questions. Thankfully, Martin is very patient with me! He survived all my questions on our trip in 2024 and agreed to do it again this year. 😂 I brought him a jar of homemade Mississippi muscadine jelly as a little gift for putting up with me on both trips. I’m not sure it is enough!

Tomorrow is Sunday, and we will be heading to Pastor John’s church to worship, share, and begin the ministry part of our trip. I’ll share more about that tomorrow. ❤️🙏

For tonight, we are patiently waiting for the water at the hotel to be turned back on so we can shower! 🚿😳 We’re not exactly sure what happened, but we are hoping it gets resolved soon so everyone can clean up and get some rest for tomorrow’s adventures.

Another day in Kenya. Another reminder that sometimes the unexpected parts of the journey make the best memories. 🇰🇪❤️

Please continue to pray for our team, for safe travels, for Pastor John and his church, and especially for the people God will place in our paths tomorrow. We are excited to see what God has planned! 🙏

30 HOURS LATER…WE MADE IT TO KENYA! 🇰🇪✈️🙏

Travel Day took us from Corinth → Texas → Qatar → Kenya, Africa. And it ONLY took about 30 hours to get here! 😂

We left Corinth around 10:30 AM on Thursday, September 17, and finally made it to our hotel around 1:00 AM on September 19. We are now officially 8 hours ahead of everyone back home!

Craig was the newbie flyer on this trip, and I can safely say he enjoyed himself. I think I enjoyed just watching him take it all in! ✈️🌎

Some of us slept better than others on the planes…and we certainly won’t mention any snoring. 🤐😂 What happens over the Atlantic stays over the Atlantic!

One important travel discovery: it is DEFINITELY worth a mile-long jog through the Texas airport to find Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf for a Chai Tea Latte! ☕️ Worth. Every. Step.

We headed to bed around 2:00 AM and plan to be back downstairs at 7:00 AM to get this mission started!

Tomorrow brings another adventure—about a 5-hour van ride to our next destination. 🚐🇰🇪

Please pray for safe travels, for our entire team, and most importantly, for the people God places in our paths over the coming days. Pray that our hearts are ready, our eyes are open, and that God uses us however He sees fit.

The travel is almost over. Now the mission begins. ❤️🇰🇪

Thank you for covering us in prayer!
