Everyone talks about Kampot pepper and blue crab, but for me, this Snack “នំស្លឹកចាក” is also another true taste of Kampot/Kep.

This is one of my favorite snacks. It’s grilled sticky rice with coconut, wrapped in chak leaves. So simple, but so delicious.

You have to eat quite a few to feel full… and suddenly you have a whole bunch of leaves! 😂🍃

Have you ever tried it? Let me know in the comments!

It might look like just a lotus seed, but for many Cambodians, it’s a little piece of childhood. 🌸

Growing up in Cambodia, this was one of the simple games many of us played.

Seeing my guests laugh while trying it brought back so many memories.

Would you give it a try if you visited Cambodia? 😊

“Neara, is that sugarcane?” 😄

That’s a question I often hear from my guests. Some think it’s sugarcane, and some have no idea what it is.

I always smile and say, “No, it’s Kralan (នំក្រឡាន)!” 🇰🇭

Kralan is sticky rice with coconut milk, black beans, and coconut meat, slowly roasted inside bamboo. It’s one of Cambodia’s traditional snacks.

I always get excited when I see this lovely lady around the Royal Palace and Riverside. Kralan is not very common in Phnom Penh, so it feels like a special find. You’ll see it more often in the provinces.

If you see her, please say hello, support her, and let her help you open the bamboo. ❤️

These are the little moments I love sharing with my guests—simple local snacks, kind people, and stories you might miss if you walk by.

Have you ever tried Kralan? 🇰🇭

Looks like a waffle… but not the one you know. 🤍🇰🇭

This is Num Pum (នំពុម្ភ) —made with rice flour and coconut milk, filled with grated coconut, and eaten just as it is. No honey needed.

Simple, but this is the taste many Cambodians grew up with.

When life gives you rain… grab a tuk-tuk. ☔️🛺😂

Maybe not 100% dry, but definitely 100% fun.

Rain can’t stop good food, great company, and an unforgettable night in Phnom Penh. 🇰🇭
