Koh Pen & the Bamboo Bridge (Kampong Cham)

Koh Pen is a peaceful island village located in the Mekong River, just across from Kampong Cham town. It offers a glimpse into traditional Cambodian rural life, with quiet villages, rice fields, and friendly local communities.

The island is famous for its bamboo bridge, a unique seasonal bridge made entirely from bamboo. During the dry season, locals rebuild this bridge by hand to connect Koh Pen with the mainland. It is long, slightly bouncy, and safe to cross—an exciting and memorable experience for visitors.

In the rainy season, when the Mekong River rises, the bamboo bridge is removed and transportation is done by boat instead.

I’m excited to share my new journey called Sony Adventures.

Sony Adventures is a personal travel service led by me, Sam, built on more than 10 years of hands-on experience as a tour leader across Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand. Rather than standard tours, I personally design and host meaningful travel experiences that connect travelers with local culture, people, and everyday life.
