Dolphin at Kampi Village, Kraches Province.

Kratie Province, located on the east bank of the Mekong River, is a popular destination primarily known for being one of the few places in the world to see the endangered Irrawaddy Dolphins. The recommended viewing spot is Kampi Village, about 15 kilometers from town, with the late afternoon being the best time to watch them. Only an estimated 60 dolphins remain in this stretch of the river.

The town itself offers an authentic rural ambience and is a peaceful place to relax, serving as a nice break from the country's more heavily visited areas.
