South Asia Gateway Terminals (SAGT), the first private container terminal operator in Sri Lanka commenced operations in 1999, propelling the Port of Colombo as a gateway hub to South Asia for global trade. Our RTG hybridisation project is making a real impact. With 28 out of 31 RTG cranes now operating on hybrid diesel-battery technology, we've achieved a 43.5% reduction in diesel consumption per move for hybrid units and saved an estimated 2 million litres of fuel, equivalent to a 53% reduction versus conventional operations.

By cutting emissions, improving efficiency and lowering operational costs, we're proving that sustainable innovation can power world-class terminal performance.
