Spot the folding issue before it becomes a packaging defect - Why Duplex Board Cracks While Folding (and How to Prevent It)

Cracking happens when the coated surface can’t stretch: the common causes are folding across the grain, incorrect creasing, low humidity, heavy coatings/varnishes and higher GSM. Practical fixes you can apply on the shop floor: align folds with the grain, use the right creasing channel for your GSM, maintain stable humidity (45-55% RH), pre‑crease before folding, avoid varnish on fold lines and choose fold‑friendly duplex grades. ✅📦🛠️
