Before he passed away in 2022, Captain Dharmaratne Ratnayake wrote his own life story — "Sath Samudura Tharanaya Kara" (Crossing the Seven Seas). It follows his whole voyage: joining the Ceylon Shipping Corporation as a cadet officer, 26 years of sailing to become a Merchant Shipping Captain, a decade in shipping management, and building his own marine surveying and consultancy practice — the company you know today as R&R Integrated Services.

It is a seafarer's book, written for seafarers — the ports, the storms, the crews, and the long way home.
