When logistics meets a typhoon… 🌪️

Our colleagues Kasparas Šidlauskas, Head of Containers Department, and Lijuan Liu, International Container Trader, represented LW Group at the China International Logistics and Transportation Fair (CILF).

The exhibition offered plenty of opportunities to reconnect with long-time partners, explore new ideas, and discover fresh perspectives on the market.

“And then nature added its own “special effects”: Typhoon Ragasa reshuffled schedules and reminded us that in logistics (and in life) flexibility is not just nice to have, it’s essential,” said Kasparas.

Did you know that *kišenė* in Lithuanian and *кишеня* in Ukrainian both mean pocket — and sound almost the same? 🇱🇹🇺🇦

That’s just one of the fun discoveries we made during a cultural session led by our colleague Antoniia Bieliatynska, Junior Supply Project Manager. In her engaging presentation, Antoniia showed us how both countries celebrate midsummer with bonfires and songs, and highlighted similarities in crafts and cuisine — from Easter egg painting to beetroot dishes.

This session was part of our Ukrainian Independence Day celebration 🎉. With several Ukrainian colleagues on our team, it was a special way to honor their culture and learn more about the traditions they bring with them.

Moments like these are more than just a break from daily tasks — they’re a chance to learn, connect, and enjoy the richness of cultures within our team.

We believe that joining a new team should feel exciting – never overwhelming. That’s why every new colleague is invited to our newcomer breakfast with the CEO, where over coffee and breakfast snacks they hear firsthand about who we are as an organization, where we are heading, and what we expect from our people.
