Girteka Girteka is Europe's leading transport company offering full-load haulage in Europe & Scandinavia meters of warehouse space.

Lithuania‘s location has throughout its history always made it one of the main transportation hubs in Europe and Central Asia and thus played a huge part in the country’s economy. Add to that well-educated and multilingual employees, up-to-date equipment and track record for 24/7 delivery, dynamic commercially minded management and a “can-do” outlook, and you can see why Girteka Group is the largest asset-based full truck load company in Europe. We started in 1996, and now have branch offices in six countries, delivering cargos all across the Europe and Central Asia. From the very beginning, encouraged by the needs of our clients, we kept constant and steady path of growth. Last year we have delivered over 200.000 cargos, counted over 6000 transport units and 220.000 sq. At Girteka Group we are proud to work from Lithuania, which has been ranked 6th out of 43 European countries in the Index of Economic Freedom 2015. The overall score reflects the country’s achievements, including freedom from corruption and the guarantee of free movement of goods, capital, services and people.

Some things are best understood in person.

Yesterday, our Šiauliai transport base welcomed experienced drivers who wanted to get a closer look at what it's like to work at Girteka and explore new career opportunities.

Visitors had the opportunity to:
🚛 Take a test drive in our modern trucks.
🏢 Explore our transport base and training centre.
👨‍🏫 Meet our instructors and learn about driver training.
💬 Talk directly to our drivers and colleagues about everyday work, career opportunities and life on the road.

Many of our own drivers brought their friends along – no one can tell the Girteka story better than the people who live it every day. 💚

The event brought together people from different nationalities over traditional Lithuanian food, creating an opportunity not only to learn about the company, but also to get to know each other.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and to our colleagues who helped make the day possible. We look forward to welcoming many of you back again – this time as part of the Girteka team!💙

Our Girteka Alumni Evening brought some of these people back together – former colleagues from different teams, markets and moments of our journey.

The evening has already passed, but the stories shared that night are still worth remembering. In this video, our alumni reflect on growth, change, leadership and what it means to remain connected with Girteka even after taking a different career path.

Celebrating Girteka’s 30th anniversary, we created a special Annual Review.

Here we share how Girteka is turning scale into performance – through our own fleet, long-term client relationships, driver care, digital solutions, sustainable logistics, and one standard of responsibility across all markets.

“For three decades, we invested in our trucks, in the people who drive them, and in the systems needed to manage transport at scale. As Girteka enters its next stage of growth, our mission becomes more focused: we deliver temperature-controlled and high-value cargo efficiently and safely with our own fleet,” says Edvardas Liachovičius, CEO of Girteka Group.

This is the next chapter of Girteka’s journey, built on the same principle:
Our Fleet. Our Responsibility.

Today in Marijampolė, Girteka is starting a new series of road safety education events for local communities across Lithuania.

At the Marijampolė City Festival, we are inviting children, families and local community members to learn how to behave safely around trucks.

Our educational truck zone includes:
– a chance for children to sit inside the truck cabin and learn about blind spots
– an interactive reflector area inside the trailer
– conversations about visibility, distance and safe choices on the road
– educational activities about road signs and what they mean in everyday traffic

Trucks are part of everyday life. But understanding how to behave near them can help make roads safer for everyone.

A big thank you to our colleagues who joined the event as volunteers and helped bring this educational experience to the Marijampolė community.

We are also glad to have VILNIUS TECH joining us today, with representatives from the Transport Engineering Faculty helping to speak about road safety and engage with festival visitors.

This is the first stop — and more will follow.

Can a truck driver really see everything? 👀

Many people think that sitting higher means seeing everything better.

In reality, trucks have blind spots in front, on both sides, and behind. That means cars, cyclists, and pedestrians can become invisible to the driver if they are too close.

A simple rule to remember: if you cannot see the driver, the driver may not see you either.

Watch the video to better understand what is visible from a truck cabin – and what stays out of sight.

At Girteka, we renew our fleet every 2–4 years, not just because it support our business direction of managing the biggest Europe fleet, but because the difference between an old truck and a new one is felt every single kilometer by our drivers and other road users. As Mindaugas Paulauskas, CEO of Girteka Transport, puts it, it’s like the jump from an old, tired car to a brand-new Mercedes-Benz. You don’t just see the difference – you feel it in your daily work. 🚀

A modern cabin with a comfortable bed, an autonomous air conditioner for those hot nights, and cameras that eliminate blind spots isn’t a luxury – it’s a workspace that respects the person working in it. When a driver feels comfortable and safe, they are less stressed, more focused, and better able to return home safely after a long trip. 🏁

At the end of the day, investing in the latest technology is our way of making the roads safer for everyone. Newer trucks don’t just break down less often. They come with smart systems that can step in when the human eye might miss something, like a cyclist in a blind spot or a sudden obstacle.

According to Rainer Müller-Finkeldei, Head of Product Development at Mercedes-Benz Trucks, such technologies are being developed not only to make drivers’ work easier, but also to consistently move closer to an ambitious goal: accident-free traffic. “For many years, we have been investing in research and development to further support drivers in their daily work through assistance systems and to increase the safety of all road users,” he says.

For Girteka, a new fleet is a commitment to a safer and more human industry, where the driver’s comfort is just as important as the cargo they carry.

On April 6, Lithuania celebrates Road Safety Day.

To mark the occasion, we invited our colleagues to debunk common myths about trucks and share simple tips on how to safely navigate around them.

As the largest European asset-based company, we feel a strong responsibility to contribute to safer roads – not only through our operations but also through education. By raising awareness about truck behavior, blind spots, and safe driving practices, we can all help make the roads safer for everyone.

Let’s take care of each other on the road. 🚛
