A roaring success 🦁🦁

This week marked the celebration of , the perfect occasion to check up on Tsar and Jamil, two rescue lions we had the honor of transporting. As part of these big cats’ rescue mission, Cargolux is proud to have contributed a free of charge flight, leveraging our live animal expertise to give the lions a better future.

After their journey from captivity to a nature reserve, Tsar and Jamil are perfectly settling into their new forever home. The pair are in excellent health and have become incredibly confident exploring their territory, taking in all the sights and sounds of the reserve. Their vocal roars are even loud enough to echo through Shamwari Private Game Reserve's hills and plains!

We look forward to seeing them continue to thrive in their new life.

A major milestone for the Cargolux Group 🌍

Our first consolidated Report covering Cargolux, Cargolux Italia, Luxcargo Handling, and Aquarius Aerial Firefighting has been published. The report offers a comprehensive view of the sustainability performance initiatives and commitments throughout the Group entities.

Building on our voluntary ESRS-aligned reporting for 2024, this first Group-level sustainability report was also subjected to independent third-party limited assurance, marking an important milestone in our sustainability journey.

Inspiring future generations ✈

For the 4th edition of the Cargolux Summer Academy, 80 aviation enthusiasts aged between 13 and 18 years old had the chance to discover our operations.

Over two 3-day sessions, Cargolux experts from Maintenance & Engineering, Flight Operations, Sales & Marketing, Commercial Planning, and Global Logistics offered participants a variety of theoretical and practical workshops.

For the first time, we were joined by Aquarius Aerial Firefighting who introduced the youngsters to the exciting world of aerial firefighting.

Celebrating Summer together ☀️

Cargolux welcomed employees and their families to its HQ for a Summer celebration. Over 1,600 people joined the event that featured food, drinks and entertainment for all ages. This year again, the star of the day was our unique bouncy Cargolux aircraft!

As a treat, guests were gifted a specially designed book retracing the story of Benji and Balu, the two rescue bears Cargolux transported to the Isle of Wight last year.

🌈 Running for Pride 🌈

Our Cargolux team took part in the annual Pride Run to celebrate diversity and raise funds for a valuable cause.

The race gathered over 4000 participants who ran across the city spreading joy, hope, and awareness.

Our team received a visit from Yuriko Backes, the Luxembourg Minister for Mobility and Public Works, Félicie Weycker, Director General of European and Legal Affairs, Public Procurement and Logistics and Max Dörner, Senior Adviser to the Minister for Mobility and Public Works.
