When's the best time to visit Morocco? Honestly — anytime. But here's the real answer.

Morocco doesn't have a bad season. It has different moods.

🌸 Spring (March–May) — wildflowers across the Atlas, green valleys, warm desert days that aren't punishing yet. Beautiful light for photos.

🍂 Fall (September–November) — our personal favorite. The heat breaks, the dunes cool into golden evenings, and the night sky over the Sahara is unreal. Peak season for a reason.

❄️ Winter (December–February) — snow on the Atlas peaks, crisp desert air, fires at camp at night. Quieter, dramatic, and seriously underrated.

☀️ Summer — this is when Morocco shifts west. The desert heats up, so we send travelers to the Atlantic coast instead — Essaouira's surf and sea breeze, Taghazout's laid-back beach towns. Same authentic Morocco, different rhythm. (Ask us about our coastal options if you're traveling June–August.)

The secret ingredient in our favorite tagine? It's not lemon juice. It's time. 🍋

On our Morocco tours, one of our favorite moments is sitting down to chicken and olive tagine under the stars at Arawan Luxury Desert Camp — and tasting that deep, savory, floral note that makes it unforgettable.

That flavor comes from preserved beldi lemons. In Darija, "beldi" means local or native — and these small, thin-skinned lemons are quartered, packed with coarse salt, and left to cure for 3-4 weeks. The salt slowly transforms the rind into something soft, translucent, and deeply aromatic. Once you taste it, you won't be able to live without it.

It's a small thing, but it says a lot about why Moroccan food tastes the way it does — nothing is rushed.(You can learn a lot about life from everything in Morocco — even the food!)
