Moroccan capital city Rabat is 4 hours train drive from Marrakech costing Dihram 200 or Euro 20. Better value paying 1st class costing Dihram 300. This is a floating restaurant /ship on the waterfront. Very clean and safe city and costs similar to other Moroccan cities. There is a modern tram system easy to navigate.

Saturday at Asni souk/ farmer's market. I took the shared large 6 person taxi, costing EU 2 / Dihram 20. Taking 50 minutes winding through the High Atlas Mountains with magnificent wild scenery. This once weekly large market is off the main road where the taxi stops and best arrive on a reasonably dry day like yesterday as could be lots of mud in rainy conditions. As well as fruit and vegetables and all kinds of hardware, there is a livestock section selling cattle, sheep, goats, rabbits, turkeys, chicken, and much more. The people are the most friendly I have ever met even away into the hillside where I took a walk passing the local Berber Tribe homes, as adults and children will salute you but not seeking money. Next time I will wear translation earbuds. They speak Berber traditional language as they are the original people, but speak Arabic also.

Remember where possible bring cash as better exchange and do the exchange at Hotel Ali without charges, which is 2 minutes walking from this Post Bank, in heart of Medina and Jemaa El Fna Square. As ATM machines often empty or broken. The Post Bank in photo is government owned and does not have charges. Avoid afternoon and night withdrawal as long line of tourist and locals for what ever ATM actually works. There are 2 machines in the front 1 at each end and around the rear of the building another ATM. Exchange is between 10 and 10.8 Dihram to the Euro for cash.

Marrakech, Roxe cafe with my morning cafe latte and bottle of water, Dihram 15, or Euro/ US 1.48. I usually spend 3 months each winter in Morocco, and if you avoid the local tourist restaurants, one can enjoy food and beverages in locals favourite spots, for half the cost of around the corner.

No WIFI No problem, up here in the High Atlas Mountains in Morocco this farmers daughter has no Internet coverage. No stress with the simple lifestyle of the Berber Tribe doing subsistence farming. They were the earlier people to be occupying this farming community in North Africa.

On the basement floor you can find everything you can find abroad relating to high quality food and drink. Includes alcohol and pork meat . Prices can be less in other areas but the quality and service in this Carefore basement mall is (Star 5)
