Moroccan architecture is made to be experienced from within.
Walk through an arch and another space opens up. Follow a shaded passage, cross a courtyard, pass alongside a reflecting pool, and the architecture keeps revealing itself through light, water, symmetry and perspective.
From historic kasbahs and riads to palaces and remarkable private properties, these spaces are designed around the experience of moving through them, not simply looking at them.
Perhaps this is what makes Moroccan architecture so captivating: every doorway leads somewhere, and every passage offers a different view of Morocco.
