Celebrating a Half Century in 2013

The story of Thome Group is borne out of Norway's historic affinity with the sea.

Seafaring, shipping and the sea are in Olav Eek Thorstensen blood and he can trace a contact with the sea back over several generations of his own family.

The same story is true of Mr Fridtjov Thome, a Norwegian who worked in Mumbai, Hongkong and came to Singapore in the 1950s to set up an office for Wallem.

The original bearer of the Thome name, Fridtjov Thome, set up Thome & Co in 1963 and undertook agency work mainly for Scandinavian owners, in addition to his chartering and shipbroking activities.
