Lily Shipping and Trading (Pvt) Ltd established on the 28th of May 1992. Since its inception as a multi operational trading company, it soon became specialized in the operation of ships owned and affiliated and totally focused on shipping. The shipping business was introduced much earlier than this when the owners of Lily Shipping & Trading (Pvt) Ltd as well as Lily Enterprises (Pvt) Ltd, started
their own import, export and trading businesses as early as in the early 1980s and went on to become well established traders in 1984. Since Maldives is a country almost totally based on imports, shipping undoubtedly plays a crucial role in contributing to enhance overall business. Therefore Lily Shipping & Trading (Pvt) Ltd, does not stand all alone without the strong backing of Lily Enterprises (Pvt) Ltd, one of the largest business enterprises in the Republic of Maldives today. The high regard and enthusiasm for success, the Company integrates quality and safety system into its operation and obtained its Document of Compliance in 2003. The Company and the ships are certified by the IMO standards with ISM and ISPS certificates. The company employs the right choice of qualified people and constantly seeks field expertise and carries out in-house upgrading. The shipping operation has been smooth ever since and non eventful. Taking into consideration the age of the vessels, a high regard for safety, suitable working environment, hygiene and relevant response and timely action from the Designated Person of the Company is given. All these have kept the shipping operation free from accidents. High performance and planned maintenance has thus kept the records of the shipping company to remain totally clean with no disruption of operational service or any major accidents or any significant claims for the past two decades. The ascending success of Lily Enterprises is identified with the contribution of Lily Shipping & Trading (Pvt) Ltd and their strong well organized management, the Shipping Company went on to be rewarded not only with their business success but also recognized by the State as well and has awarded the Company with the Presidents Notional Award in 2004 for their performance in shipping services to Maldives. The company has been so far fortunate to avoid major accidents and therefore has made no claims for the past 20 years, owing to the planned maintenance and good management in the operation of ships.
