Malawi will soon be Migrating to Asycuda world a web based system that is an upgrade from the previous Asycuda ++ client based sytem.
Some of the benefits of this system include:
-Multiple accounting and statistical abilities
-EG: Online payment of Import duties
-Integration of Valuation control (Valuation Data base)
-Possibility of customization by the local IT personnel since access code is provided unlike the ASYCUDA ++ where access code is not provided
-Ability to inter operate with external agencies
-EG: The ministry of Trade and industry, Ministry of Finance, Reserve Bank of Malawi and also individual Importers who will be able to keep track of their shipments progress as they will now be able to receive sms alerts on the progress at every stage of clearance.
-Availability of an integrating risk management system
Increased revenues
-Streamlined and improved business processes and better collection of trade statistics.
-Reduced costs of doing business as a result of improved clearance times.
-Flexibility and easy access to Customs Management Systems for on line updates of transaction status.
-Integration of systems of various government agencies involved in import and export processing, a building block for the National Single Window (NSW) initiative.
