A church built on top of a pyramid 🇲🇽 — not coincidence, but conquest.

When the Spanish arrived, many sacred Indigenous temples were destroyed — and churches were built right on top of them.

This wasn’t just about religion — it was also a powerful message of dominance.

The Templo Mayor, where I’m standing, was one of the most important ceremonial sites of the Mexica (Aztecs).

Today, right next to it, stands the Metropolitan Cathedral — built using stones from this very pyramid.

Today, Mexicans and Spaniards have a good relationship — but this city still holds the layers of a complex past.

POV: trying a REAL huarache in Mexico 🇲🇽🔥

Rain in Egypt… something that almost never happens. 🌧️🇪🇬

For me, as a Mexican, rain feels totally normal. In Mexico City we get months of rain every year. But today something beautiful happened while I was exploring Egypt.

My guide Bishoy was genuinely happy because it started raining. He told me that last year it only rained for about 30 minutes the entire winter. Imagine that!

He also shared something really special: many people believe that when it rains, heaven is open and prayers can be answered.

Travel really reminds you that the things we consider normal somewhere can be truly special somewhere else.

When you’re in Mexico City, aguas frescas and fresh juices are a must 🇲🇽🥭🍉

Seriously — don’t leave without trying one.

Just make sure you pick a clean spot, ideally in a traditional market, where you can see the fruit is fresh and everything is prepared properly 👀✨

Why am I saying this? Because after living in other countries, I realized not every place has access to super fresh, sun-ripened fruit. Here in Mexico, the flavors are naturally intense and sweet ☀️ That’s why sometimes guests on our tours ask, “Did you add sugar?”

Nope. We don’t add sugar. The fruit is just THAT good.

Mexican or Japanese peanuts? 👀🥜

Plot twist: both… and neither.

In Mexico City we call them cacahuates japoneses — and they’re SO good.

But here’s the fun part: they were actually created here in CDMX in the 1930s–40s by a Japanese immigrant who couldn’t find the original ingredients from Japan… so he improvised with Mexican ones 🤯

He started selling them near La Merced market, people loved them, and everyone kept saying:
“Buy the peanuts from el japonés!”

And boom — cacahuates japoneses were born.
Funny enough?

In Japan they call them… Mexican peanuts 😅
