10/08/2026.
What date did you just read?
In the U.S., October 8. In Mexico, August 10. Two months apart on the same document, and both sides certain they read it right.
That's what the mistakes that have nothing to do with language look like.
Moving freight across Mexico, the U.S. and Canada takes far more than translation:
→ Weights in pounds on one side, kilos on the other. Dimensions in feet and in meters.
→ Different holidays that close offices, customs or warehouses in one country while the other works a normal day.
→ Different ways of confirming. A “yes” can mean “understood” or “confirmed,” and at a pickup appointment that gap gets expensive.
A bicultural team isn't just one that translates accurately. It’s the team that catches these nuances before they turn into a missed appointment or a misquoted load.
That's why at ARC we say we don't just speak two languages. We think in two cultures. 🦅
Ever been caught by a cross-border misunderstanding like this?
