🏛️💰 **Thinking about visiting the Tulum Ruins? You may be in for a surprise.**

For years, visiting one of Mexico's most iconic archaeological sites was relatively affordable. Today, however, access to the Tulum Ruins comes with a significantly higher price tag.

📌 **Why?**

The entrance fee now includes access to **Parque del Jaguar (Jaguar Park)**, the protected natural area, and beach access fees. Even if your only goal is to visit the archaeological zone and spend an hour exploring the ruins, you are still required to pay for the entire package.

💵 **Current admission prices (Monday–Saturday):**
• General admission: **$515 MXN** (~$32 USD)
• Mexican nationals: **$310 MXN**
• Quintana Roo residents: **$205 MXN**
• Students (Mexican nationals): **$30 MXN**

⚠️ The issue isn't necessarily the existence of Jaguar Park itself—it's that visitors cannot choose to pay only for the ruins. The fees are bundled together, whether you plan to use the additional areas or not.

📣 This dramatic increase is one of the main reasons many local residents have protested in recent months.

Not long ago, admission to the Tulum archaeological site was **under $200 MXN**. Today, the standard ticket has risen to **$515 MXN**, more than doubling the cost for many visitors.

Many locals and frequent travelers argue that one of Mexico's most famous cultural landmarks is becoming less accessible, while supporters of the new model point to conservation efforts and improvements within the protected area.
